something like 19 emmy nominations for season 1 yesterday, and now news is leaking about a potential lead character in season 2.

I'd like to hear the other 3 main cast members before making a judgement

I didn't think anyone could possibly top Cranston or Spacey, but MM was so ****ing nails in True Detective.

Colin Farrell is f-cking poison. He ruins and is ****ty in everything. He only gets gigs because he spread ass on the right casting couch back in the late 90s/early 00s.

    Jesus no!

I don't mind Farrell when he just goes with his normal accent. He always sounds weird to me when he tries to do an American accent.

Farrell needs TD wayyyyyy more than TD needs Farrell. Maybe the script sucks or something.

I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Casey Affleck, I think he's capable of some pretty decent work.

Farrel has a lot in common with Matthew McConaughey, in that he's done a bunch of stuff that I can't stand, but there are one or two roles where he was iconic, where the character is so memorable that I keep thinking of a line or two he had.

For me, with McConaughey it was the early role in Dazed and Confused.

I loved Farrell's role in In Bruges. He was absolutely hilarious.

Pretty much outside of those two movies, where I love the actors, they both make me want to shoot myself in the head.

The deal with Matthew McConaughey is he got sucked into that Hollywood money-machine least-common-denominator type bland roles, which obviously pays really well. When he broke free of that it was clear what he could do with a decent role. Maybe the same can be true for Farrell.

This. Or Joaquin Phoenix or Tom Hiddleton or Ryan Gosling or Chiwetel Ejiofor or Oscar issac or Jake Gylenhall (he does dark well) or any number of talented actors who aren't so basic.

He was solid in Gone Baby Gone, however I'd be pissed if they threw a Boston spin on TD. So sick of Beantown dominating Hollywood

You'd rather they do California instead of Boston?

Well the only reason TD1 was set in Louisiana was because of the massive state tax incentives. Same for Breaking Bad and it's NM tax incentives. Anyway my bet is on NM, GA, NC or LA because of tax incentives.
