Saw this and wanted to share some non sub .500 bball talk. Personally, I couldn't get through the 12 days of Christmas.

    http://blogs.houstonpress.com/hairballs/2010/12/a_houston_rockets_christmas_ra.php

The Houston Rockets like to put out Christmas videos in which the players mangle carols, to the general merriment of all.

It's a good idea in theory. In practice? Cover your ears.

    4. "Let It Snow"

No one gets close to being in tune, but this is worth it if only for the bizarre way Yao Ming looks like some sci-fi square-headed 1950s robot with his Christmas cap on. Danger Will Robinson!!

    3. "Jingle Bell Rock"

We're not Rockets fanatics, so we don't recognize the sixth guy in, who ominously intones some dark words that sound like "**** `em" but are more likely just a semi0strangled plea to get out of here. (C'mon HP, that's Deke!)

    2. "12 Days of Christmas"

We could take only very, very little of this, but did manage to last long enough to learnthat Tracy McGrady made it through his part without blogging about how he wasn't going to make it the rest of the way.

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/r_OgI8gxR2A?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/r_OgI8gxR2A?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

    1. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"

Dude in the Nike sweattop (little help?) might have some pipes; it's hard to tell. Luis Scola just wishes he were back home. (I'm guessing HP is talking about Kyle Lowry in the adidas sweatshirt.)

Rasheed Wallace still has the best Christmas video.

I love all four of those videos! Who cares if they can't sing, it's all in good fun.

Gotta love Scott Padgett in the 12 days of Christmas. Any three pointers from him would have been nice!

    just curious

Why do you keep referring to the author of that article as HP?(I assume that is short for heypartner, the longtime cf member)

The byline says Richard Connelly wrote it.

    and

the videos are amusing, if for no other reason than to see what a bunch of grown men will do when asked to do something they would clearly rather not be doing.

I should have used his name but I was referring to the Houston Press.

Fun videos and hoping to see if they have one this year too.

Seeing Carl Landry in the last video makes me sad, he was such a good dude. :(

Is. IS such a good dude. He's not dead. Just living in Sacramento. Don't worry, people mix the two up all the time.
