Computer simulation says Broncos will get Super Bowl revenge on Seahawks

If you watched last season's Super Bowl, you'd have a hard time believing the Denver Broncos could beat the Seattle Seahawks. Well, PredictionMachine.com apparently didn't watch that game.

PredictionMachine.com has simulated the NFL season 50,000 times to determine who the "Predictalator" says will lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy at season's end. Despite the Seahawks' 43-8 win in last year's Super Bowl, PredictionMachine.com has Denver beating the defending champions this time around ... something most football fans will find puzzling. According to the simulations, the Denver Broncos win this season's Super Bowl 52.9 percent of the time, this time avenging the Seahawks by a 24-23 score.

In the simulations, the Broncos beat the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game and in an intriguing twist, the "Predictalator" has the New Orleans Saints as the top seed in the NFC, although they fall to the Seahawks a game before the Super Bowl.

Some of the other surprises from the simulations are that the Houston Texans, the worst team in the league last year, are predicted to be a playoff team. Also, the NFC East has two playoff teams in the simulation (Hint: Tony Romo is not the quarterback of either one of the playoff teams; the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles are postseason-bound according to the computer).

The "Predictalator" simulated the NFL season utilizing a variety of rankings and tabulations. All this so you don't have to watch the season, right?

Or, maybe you should still watch.

This wouldn't be the first time that PredictionMachine.com has had a Rocky Mountain high. Last year, the site gave the Broncos a 14.6 percent chance of winning the Super Bowl, tops in the AFC. The San Francisco 49ers were tops in the NFC and the league as a whole with 20.1 percent chance of winning everything. Clearly, things didn't go according to simulations.

Hats off and good stuff as always from PredictionMachine.com and definitely worth wondering if the Broncos will be a better team this season than the Seahawks, especially after their dud at MetLife Stadium in the Super Bowl. But what we really want to know is the over/under on how many smiles Bill Belichick has this year. Get to it "Predictalator"!

Clearly the Predictalator did not watch the first preseason game.

Or they don't base their simulations on one scrimmage the way Texans fans seem to.

I've been saying it for the longest... All it will take for this team to make the playoffs is solid QB play, an improved defense, and simulations.

Did someone accidentally put all the A.I. sliders for the Texans to 100 before running the simulation??

Fix our secondary and fix our QB and we have a winning team.
That's easier said than done though.

I'd be happy with simply being in the playoff mix at mid season.

What happened to Gateway? I would suspect they are out of business.

    Bro, do you even Predictalate?

There's no way we're as bad as last year, there's too much talent on this team.

    Last year was a fluke.

Not saying we'll make the playoffs, but we will not be the worst team in the league.

Also, we might make the playoffs.

I don't think we're a bad team but I have so little faith in Fitzpatrick doing anything that I don't see how we'd make the playoffs.
