I don't believe that Charles understands what the "analytical crap" means.

Dwight Howard may indeed have nothing to do with analytics since any observer is going to see that he is an elite player. But Asik is very much an analytics play-- a guy whose traditional numbers aren't great and whose $8.4 M/yr deal was questioned by many. Even Harden was kind of an analytics play since several teams turned down a Harden offer and some doubted whether his efficiency numbers would translate in an expanded role.

If it wasnt for the smart guy moves webwould of had room for harden. Asik or dwight. We would have never made the play offs after tmacs-yaos injuries

There's a reason Charles is more comfortable with a team full of dumbasses.

He didn't believe Yao would ever score 20 points in a game either and all that got him was a chance to put his lips on Kenny Smiths ass.

What's with the Charles hate? Lol.
He's wrong here, in a sense, but he does touch on the issue that analytics is getting over-valued and overrated in this league.

Do you have any stats to prove that analytics is over-valued? :p

Barkley is who he is. He does have some good points. Bringing Harden, Asik and Howard to town makes great basketball sense, not just analytical sense. And head coaches obviously want some say in the draft. If you don't get Sir Charles it is best just to ignore him. After all he is in the HOF.

Asking Charles to debate analytics is like asking Charles to tell you what winning an NBA Championship is like ...

He does have a point, it just comes across as stupid because Barkley's a idiot. Advanced stats are useful in many ways, but give .dorks like Bill Simmons a platform to talk basketball when they don't deserve one. Its good and bad

Morey would make him look foolish if they ever appeared on the same show. Barkley just isn't scared to give his opinion. He's still cool though
