16 is more than old enough to know better (and to understand that actions have consequences). There's a reason this doesn't happen very often. We're talking about an exceptionally stupid high schooler here.

    Can't ruin a future that doesn't exist.

Isn't the point of HS football dick jokes and homo erotic games? It's like trying to get a dog not to bark. Thanks Obama.

Didn't even read the article because I was angry after the first few sentences.

If he is facing charged because it appeared in the yearbook, what about the yearbook editors?

Just stupid. I love what reluican states do for violent crime offenders, but to overkill something so meaningless and trivial is just wrong.

You are out of touch if you think all kids at 16 should know better. The prosecutor should get fired for being an *******.

No one on picture day seems to have noticed, so no indecent exposure charge is warranted. He wasn't responsible for the use and distribution of the photo, so I don't see how he could be charged for that either. A decent lawyer should be able to get him off.

I understand that they shouldn't have to, but with kids you know things like this are going to happen. I'm not saying they should be persecuted like some others are saying, just that they hold some of the responsibility. I'm sure they have been punished in some way. I'm more concerned about the fact that this kid might be labeled a sex offender for something that was clearly a joke. Punish him, yes, but only to an extent.

Yes actions do have consequences, but not to the extent for which the prosecutors are trying to achieve in this case. Just because he is an exceptionally stupid high school student doesn't mean that he doesn't have a future. I'm sure many people have thought little about a dumb teenager who then turned their life around and did something great with it.

But I am, for the most part, an optimist, so whatever. :p

All charges against him were dropped.

None of the players in the picture would press charges apparently.....I am sure the kid got a scare - that is enough.

What does he need a scare for? I'm confused as to how he did anything wrong.

Whipping your dick out in a team photo that goes in the yearbook isn't inappropriate behavior?

A guy in my school did the exact same thing and the picture made it into our yearbook -- I don't recall the lives of any precious snowflakes being ruined.

Inappropriate behavior is selecting a photo that includes nudity to put in a yearbook. This guy pulled a prank that should have been only a mild annoyance (or titillation) to the teacher in charge of the yearbook committee.
