Why does ESPN hate Stephen Curry and the Warriors?

Honest question: why does BSPN do this?

    1. Because it's easy? (less work getting real stories or reporting)
    2. It expands viewership. (I can't imagine that this is true. How could that be true?)
    3. Corporate sponsorship deals. (We will do ad buy X but you need to spend % time on our guy. This is too tin foil hatted a theory even for me.)
    4. ???

I'm left thinking it's just option #1. Laziness.

EDIT: I mean Harden was soooo much better last night and had so much less help.

Harden is not as marketable or media personable.

For sure, and I could say more about that, but I'll leave their differences as you've summed them up.

But a priori, why should a media outlet care who is more marketable? Do they sell more ad time if Curry is on the screen more? Do average fans really want nonstop slobbering on just one player? I find that hard to believe.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if State Farm had a rule that the assist of the night highlight the winning team.

Steph Curry is easy to promote. Like KD pre this season.

ESPN will do anything for ratings including pumping up the more marketable players and teams to increase their own ratings. Suburban white kids who are normally playing baseball are tuning in to watch Curry. Harden doesn't have the same appeal to white collar suburban families. Watch the commercials during the games and ask the question - is the person who is going to buy this product likely a Curry or a Harden fan?

I miss the old baby ankle Curry. You could root for that Curry and not feel like you were being strong armed into liking him.

they probably have stats proving increased viewership and ad ratings for curry vs. harden.

so the narrative is to push curry as the likeable character. the reigning mvp.

When we had yao and Tmac we were the national team of china, but we never got out the of the 1st round.

Always complaining about the refs makes the fan base look silly.

No, that's not premature at all. He's totally another MJ or Bird.

Well, I tell you one thing. The media likes nothing better than tearing someone down once they pump them up.

I'm actually glad they've never taken a shine to a player I love (not since Dr. J anyway).

Nba.com is doing the same thing.
Warriors won game 1 and nba.com headlines say " GS dominates Hou."
I always thought dominating meant wire to wire leading. Were the other team rolls over. That's not what happened.
If Houston would have won game , watch headlines would have said " Hou escapes with a win." "Hou cheats and Wins"

The difference now between most of our sports coverage and the narration for professional wrestling is essentially nil. I wish yahoo could get its act more completely together, because people are ready for a real option.
