I was watching the tv commerical and I thought "Wow, Yao's first major tv commercial". Then feeling a bit nostalgic I remembered the night he broke the 20 point barrier. Then going back a bit further, I remembered his first dunk. So when is he going to get his first tattoo? What will it be? When will he get his first double technical? Or his first lapdance? First quintuple double? Ahh, they joys of being a parent, I mean fan. Is there a chinese character for "and 1"?
I hope never. Yao Ming seems to have a head on his shoulders and understands his status as a role model. I know I will be flamed by all the tattoo fans, but I personally view them as a form of self-mutilation and symbol of low self-esteem.
I think it would be sweet to see Ming all tatted up. I doubt he will, considering his culture and background. But I do think it would be sweet. Funny, i don't have any tattoo's, but I've sat in the chair.
Talking about technical, I saw Ming has a technical foul in the Timberwolves game. I didn't watch that game. Can someone tell me what that foul was about?
I could have sworn I saw a small tattoo of a basketball on Yao's right leg, lower calf. It's usually covered up by his sock. Francis and Cat must have made him get one after he joined the Rockets.
I think that was Kenny Thomas, and I agree with Thumb 100%, sorry to say this but tattoo is for "punk" only.......... and Mr Yao is a CLASS...
I hope he won't get a tattoo, and if Cuttino doesn't have any, that makes me like Cuttino even more. I always liked his personality, just not the way he plays too much sometimes.
Its not realy a high class thing to do! Its more associated with Sailors and Street People. Its an art form for certain groups in our Society and a thing that rebellious youths do, to make a statement against Parents and Society. In some quarters its thaught of being a masculine thing to decorate your body.Sometimes persons with Tattoos can be associated with Drug Culture and/or more obscure Religious Cults. I hope that Yao Ming would show his art and masculinity by performing on the Basketball Court.
