This is what I've got so far, I would really appreciate suggestions from my fellow Clutch brethren, especially those of you who were teenagers in the late 70s/early 80s. I was inspired by how freaking lame the Grammy's were and how boring Bon Iver is.

What I Like About You - The Romantics
    Teenage Kicks - The Undertones
I Want You To Want Me - Cheap Trick
Working Too Hard - The Nerves
Pump It Up - Elvis Costello
Another Nail In My Heart - Squeeze
    My Sharona - The Knack
    September Gurls - Big Star
Sick Of Myself - Matthew Sweet
Cruel To Be Kind - Nick Lowe
A Girl Like You - The Smithereens
    Starry Eyes - The Records
    No Matter What - Badfinger
    Surrender - Cheap Trick
Hanging On The Telephone - The Nerves

Why even make your own list anymore? Just log on to Spotify or some other service, make a radio station from one representative band and let it roll.

They probably have a designated station for power pop, but I haven't looked.

Just glanced through my MP3's and this is what jumped out at me. There is a strong bent to the early 90's - far more than is actually representative of my collection of MP3's. Seems like that was a better time for power pop. Also, power pop is kinda difficult to pin down exactly, so some of these may not meet your definition.

You're off to a good start there, oski - is good to see you got Big Star, The Records and Badfinger. On your list. Some other bands from that genre that would qualify would be The db's, The Shoes, The Jam, earlier Who Sings My Generation and Sells Out. Also The Buzzcocks' Singles going Steady is pure power pop with an edge. More recently, The Rifles and Visqueen come to mind. Oh Yeah, Teenage Fanclubs' Bandwagonesque and Velvet Crush Teenage Symphonies to God albums should whet your sweet tooth
