that's one of the weakest highlight videos I've seen. if those are his higlights, he's not going to be very good. his game consists of primarily decent big man passes to wide open teammates.

Nope. Morey only drafts underzied big men. Maybe if he can shrink about 3-4 inches. Morey will push hard for Thomas Robinson (6-8 PF) who will try to play the three like Morris is.

If Morey wants and undersized big he should move up for Jared Sullinger. Although that may be hard to do

    1) court vision of passing out of the post
    2) rebounding ability
    3) inside game
    4) strength and ability to finish strong inside with dunks
    5) he'll be available when we pick which is looking like the 15-20 range

    What's not to like?

He also has pretty good athleticism.

I'm pretty sure he is going to be off the board when we pick, but this is who I have wanted all along.

    Thanks a lot Jeremy Lin:mad::mad:

I agree with Spooner this is who I've wanted all along! I think he may still be on the board between 15-17 where we'll most likely pick. As much as we could use an upgrade at the SF position, C is a must. Thabeet is garbage and is gone and though Dalembert has helped this team defensively at a bargain contract, he's just a temporary fix. He's a legit 7 footer that can score around the basket and averages 2 blocks a game. A young duo of 7 footers with Motiejunas and Leonard could bring some excitement to Houston. Though would help both to add some weight to be able to bang at the pro level. I'll go crazy if Morey drafts another undersized big man.

Why is no one talking about Meyers Leonard?

Why is no one talking about Meyers Leonard?

He is one of the best true center prospects I've seen since Greg Oden. He is super athletic, can score in a variety of ways, excellent passer on outlets and has a bullet arm for drawing doubles and kicking it too shooters. Plays defense, is physical in the post. At worst this guy is Brook Lopez.

Morey should use some of our assets to make a move up into the top 5 and grab this guy. He is going in the late lottery right now, but once scouts see this kids workout, he will fly up the boards.

Changed the thread title from "DRAFT. THIS. MAN. MOREY." to "Meyers Leonard" ... bit easier to find out what the discussion is that way.

Have to agree. He looks like a more complete Brook Lopez. I could be wrong, but I don't see him slipping out of the lottery on draft night.

That highlight video is worth it for one play -- when he fakes the handoff, dribbles to his left and then tries to dunk it. He misses the dunk but the aggression and the athleticism to not only put the ball on the floor from the three point line but attack the rim are pretty superb. Really like this guy as he'll continue to grow.

I like this kid too. Wonder if he'll fill out.

Great hands. Very good hook shot with both hands. Like the way he feels for the defender on the post ups. Like the way he backs off his man and gives him space for the block instead of bodying up tight and getting burned with the spin moves. He mixes up his defense well. Decent looking 15 footer as well. Great court vision and likes to pass. Looks like he has a great attitude.

Will he fill out? Will he fill out? Will he fill out?

    Good looking young player.

That play where he hedged out on the perimeter and then came back to block the shot in the post was pretty nice.

Good chance to be a serviceable C at the next level.

It surely would be refreshing to see a Rockets big with good hands!

I've watched some of his games, and to be honest I don't like him much. I remember a PF banging into him, not too hard, and Meyers subsequently falling to the ground and gasping for breath as the wind was knocked out of him. He looks to me to be a career backup C.
