To be honest, I hate to see a city lose a major league sports franchise, but it's amazing Seattle is without the NBA.

But that's always the fallback: "Get me a new stadium, even if you have no money, or I'll move the team to....." (dunh dunh DUNH!) "....SEATTLE!"

If this happens, they'd have to do relocation in the conference. Wouldn't they? A team would have to move east. Probably the Grizzlies and OKC would move into our division.

Threats to make the democrats and republicans stop waste time and go on voting. Most want to keep the team but have argument as " we weren't included in prior talks" " why green bay had to pay and mil won't have to pay alone?" etc etc
Also doing something called "grandstanding" who I have no idea what means. lol

Tomorrow we will know. Nothing to worry about tho yet.

Doesn't even matter. The Supersonic identity stayed in Seattle.

Hate that they go so quickly to threatening the city if they don't get their way. If it's so great in Seattle or Vegas, why not just skip the part where you bully Milwaukee and just move?

How about this, NBA teams: show the city that there is a compelling business case for investing in this arena and that the taxpayer will get an attractive return on his money. Or are you hoping this is another deal in which the taxpayer builds the infrastructure and private enterprise collects all the profits?

But... what if there isn't a compelling case?

And that's exactly why the NBA will not return to Seattle for a long time. It creates the perfect leverage for teams to demand stadium renovations.

Bingo, Haymitch. Stadium renovations only benefit the team. The city doesn't get any more money from it, but ends up fronting the whole thing. Without having a credible threat (Seattle) to rally up popular support (among rabid fans who favor building a new arena out of fandom and loyalty and not rationality) to end up getting what they want.

it's not an empty threat. It's in the contract they signed when they bought it.
The argument has been made multiple times. The state will lose tens of millions every year in taxes, the development of park east , and the jobs the development will provide.

And it's also correct that if they go to Seattle they will be the Sonics.

the state of winsconsin will OWE reparations and working costs of the Barclay State Center upwards to 100 millions already that without the Bucks and only with Marquette it will be unsustainable. This is already a fact. They owe this money to the previous arena. So either they will have to pay millions more to tear it down and leave marquette without a stadium and Milwaukee without any arena AND they will lose 100 millions a year after the second cap rise in taxes income and have that side of the city being a complete and utter DUMB or they can pay a part to build a new arena that can host concerts.

Milwaukee is known around the world only because of the Bucks. Do you think that anyone outside of usa knows about the packers or wisconsin beer or cheese? Nope. This is the sole and only reason that they are known. It's not like Houston.

Clippers should move to Seattle, LA doesn't need two teams.

Move the Bucks to Houston. We won't mind having 2 teams. Houston Rockets and Katy Bucks.

Then move the Spurs to the East.

Can you imagine making it through Milwaukee winters without NBA basketball?
