I was lucky enough to get to sit at halfcourt behind the broadcast crew for Dwight's first game. Took some photos and vids, thought I'd share. It's crazy the things you pick up on when you're sitting that close- mainly the physicality, even in a preseason game. Didn't take a ton of pictures of the action because I thought that would be pointless, but here are a few. Pics are pretty big. Thought I'd share with my CF brethren, Hope you guys enjoy it! Dwight's first introduction (he was last to be introduced). There was also some mix up as Kevin was introduced as coach before the lineups and everyone was a little confused. That's why John Paul Stevenson was shaking his head afterwards. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/1a9-CKUivds" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Bullard comes off as a nicer guy- interacts more with fans and mingles with everyone. Clyde mainly does his own thing The only way I'll get to see a CSN broadcast all year Not a fan of their new name, but NO has some nice duds. warmups National anthem Dwight getting set for tipoff Starting 5 He had a few nice post ups Perhaps I was biased from reading about it this offseason, but I felt like Harden was going harder on the defensive end of the floor than last season. Probably my favorite picture of the night. Hakeem was sitting in 2 seats for most of the game, one one side with the Rockets new sponsors (ZTE I think) and on the other side by a little girl who was trying to reach the floor with her feet the entire game, utterly unaware as to who she was sitting next to. Needless to say I was envious of a 5 year old. Chandler and Dwight's Tenacious D It's true, Dwight loves to smile man. He was having a great time the entire game You gotta run on this team, or you'll get left behind. Some guy in a Saints jersey was mouthing off to James, and he was enjoying it Stiemsma had a tough night. The best drive Jeremy had all night The world's tallest living person in the US (Igor Vovkovinskiy) out to support the Rockets. He's 7'9 and he labored to walk anywhere. Can only imagine how Yao managed to play so well at his size. Here Igor was taking part in a timeout performance
Thanks! It's a guy, Igor Vovkovinskiy. He was shown on screen throughout the game. He had on a shirt that said "I'm a HUGE Rockets fan" and on the back "Even bigger than Yao!"
Nikon d3100 with Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.4G. That lens is my baby. Admittedly takes better photos with less action. Wish they would let me take in my zoom lens Thanks for all the nice words! Also forgot to post these on youtube, so I just uploaded them on photobucket- they're lower res than if I'd post them on youtube.
ditto. using it as my fb cover pic today, hope that's okay with the OP. All the pics are great, thanks for posting them!!
for sure, do whatever you want as long as you don't make money off my pictures lol. If you guys want to use them for photochops or wallpapers or anything, knock yourself out.
To do what, the guy can barely walk let alone stand up for any length of time. I love the chemistry on this team. You can just tell they love to play the game and with one another. And my favorite pic was the little girl sitting next to Hakeem. too cute.
Awesome pics! I've brought my DSLR in with the standard 18 - 55mm zoom before. Security has told me that the lens cannot be more than 4inches long, so it wasnt a problem. I plan to try to bring my new 18 - 135mm STM lens next time which measures just at 4inches
