After signing Allen, Bergstrom & drafting Martin, probably unlikely but the Bears released G Matt Slauson. Bears released OG Matt Slauson. Slauson was owed just under $3 million this season. The move is surprising after Slauson finished No. 18 in Pro Football Focus' 2015 guard ratings, with a top-ten rank in pass protection. He allowed one sack in 16 starts, and just turned 30 in February. While the Bears are moving on with second-round pick Cody Whitehair at left guard, a good guard just hit the free agent market.
Yeah....that's the guy that laid the cheap shot on Cushing and ended all hopes for a post-season run a few years back. I don't expect the Texans to be players there.

Both of those guys are still under contract w/ the Titans and Vikings for 2016. The option is for next year...

Not that its a big deal, but the Pats let Frantzy (not Fritzy) Jourdain go. They didn't renew his contract when it expired. http://nep.247sports.com/Bolt/Report-Patriots-parting-ways-with-area-scout-Frantzy-Jourdain-43998893
I think G is the weakest position on the line right now, signing Slauson would probably be an upgrade at R or L Guard. I'd like too see more depth heading into training camp.
Jeff Allen is highest rated OL, even over D Brown, according to PFF. His player grade is 2nd highest on our offense, after Hopkins and higher even than Lamar Miller. X'ua Filo is full time starter. So how is G position weak
What are we going to do at DL? Aren't Covington and Reader more NT that DEs? Are we just going with Still? We have some money left over from Hoyer, would love to see us nab a quality DE if any are on the market.
XSF has not been a good player to date. We're hoping he takes a step forward. Jeff Allen has been hurt a lot in his career and had his first really good year last year. I'm optimistic on both, but there is also reason to be concerned. Covington is actually more of a 4-3 DT so he's a sub package guy. They will probably give him a chance to play DE though. Reader is definitely a NT. Still will get a shot to make the team. Wilfork can play DE in base and actually did that the year before we signed him with NE more than he played NT. John Lopez is in love with the Michigan State DE we signed, Joel Heath. He'll get a chance to earn a spot as well. They still have Pagan but he hasn't shown much to date. He'll have to show out to keep his job this season. John McClain thinks they will sign a veteran. That's a summary of the RDE spot to date.
