Remember, in 2007 Leslie Alexander forced out Jeff Van Gundy after a heated confrontation in which Lesllie Alexander insisted that the Rockets (at the time, anchored around 7-6, 330 lb center Yao Ming) play "more Phoenix-like"

Mike D'Antoni was fired from the Lakers in 2014. Mike D'Antoni coached Dwight Howard for the Lakers during his successful 2013 season - in which he dropped his system to fit Dwight.

Question I: will Mike D'Antoni's refusal to play more Phoenix-like hurt him in Les' eyes?

Question II: will Mike D'Antoni's commitement to playing hard, the McHale way, also hurt him in Les' eyes?

As long as Howard is on this team, D'Antoni would not be a good fit.

I also have reservations because he quit in New York and he quit in Los Angeles.

To the best of my knowledge, he wasn't fired from either spots, he just quit

Well we have a head coach for at least the rest of this season and JB has been assured that if he does well he can have the job.... so .... the answer is: No

Ok......I'm not completely dismissive of the idea of dantoni nor am I a fan due to his crappy defense. But here's a major problem........WE HAVE NO SHOOTERS. We don't have any for Morey ball we dont have it for 7SOL. Lawson may thrive but thats not what this team needs. A defensive structured system is what we need to start off with. That is more of a chemistry builder than anything IMO.

Harden, Thornton, Ariza will thrive in the D'Antoni system, as will Lawson in the Leandro Barbosa role. KJ McDaniel is the young Boris Diaw, Capela = young Stoudemire.

I don't like D'Antoni. Bit of a whiny character. Blames others not himself.

Uh, no f'ing way. D'Antoni was a failure in New York and a failure in LA. His teams never played good consistent defense and that's the biggest problem facing this Rockets bunch right now. If you're gonna replace JB with another coach, it's gotta be a defensive minded one(Thibs or JVG).

Steve Nash made Mike D'Antoni, he's not a good coach.

Since when is Kj McDaniels compared to a young Boris Diaw? LMAO

There are already problems with our star players chemistry and the team tuning out the coach, the last thing we need is more problems with Dwight and the new coach.

Ty would tear it up. Our defense couldn't be worse, but man our offense would be incredible.

Yes it could be worse. In fact the Rockets right now as is are a very good team at defending the pnr. With D'antoni I dont' think even that would be good.

FACT: In 2013, it was Bernie Bickerstaff's job for awhile to coach Dwight Howard.

    Then Mike D'Antoni took over.

Morey should be the coach. Cut out the middle man.
