With 15 Rockets games remaining, Yao Ming leads all Centers in PPG.

    According the NBA rules:

*To qualify: a player must be on pace to play 70 games or score 1,400 points.

Yao will not get to 70 games (played in 46 so far), but there is an outside shot at 1,400 points.

He is 380 points away right now, so he needs to average 25.3 ppg to qualify.

Yao is averaging 28 PPG since the All-Star Break (14 games).

    I'd say he makes it.

The bigger question is whether he'll get 1st team NBA or if they make up some BS to give it to someone else. I personally expect it to go to Duncan, since they're happy to interchange F/C if it suits them. Notice how many players are listed both times if you look at ESPN's scoring ranking for centers and then PFs...

Yao deserves it, but I don't know if he'll get it.
