I have us resigning demeco, pollard, daniels as our own free agents. then with the extra money I have us signing DT Ryan Pickett, a 6'2 240 run stuffer. I also have us signing the veteran Kevin Mawae (center) from Titans. I know he's 39, but he is a leader and plays nasty. here is my mock draft and 2010 team. 1st rd - earl thomas - fs - texas - 5'10 197 2nd rd - perish cox - oklahoma st. - 6'0 198 3rd rd - perry riley - olb - lsu - 6'1 240 4th rd - sergio render - og - virginia tech - 6'4 315 5th rd - charles scott - rb - lsu - 5'11 234 6th rd - pat simonds - wr - colate 7th rd - scott ravanesi - p - s. illinois - 6'1 195 offense: qb - schaub/orlowski rb - slaton/scott/foster fb - leach/casey wr - johnson/davis wr - jones/anderson/simonds te - daniels/casey/hill lt - brown/butler lg - brisel/render c - mawae/meyers rg - caldwell/studdars special teams: k- brown p - ravanesi kr - davis pr - mCcain DEFENSE: RE - WILLIAMS/BULMAN RT - OKOYE/CODY LT - PICKETT/SMITH LT - WINSTON/BUTLER SLB - CUSHING/DILES MLB - RYANS/DILES WLB - RILEY/DILES SS - POLLARD/BARBER FS - THOMAS/McCAIN CB - COX/McCAIN CB - QUIN/REEVES NC - REEVES/BUTLER
I think you should put this in the draft prospects thread. No need to start a new thread. Or why didn't you just bump your original thread which is only a few threads below ?
I seriously doubt we have 3 rookies start on defense next year. I don't see Reeves losing his starting spot. He had a pretty good season, much better than his first with us. His name wasn't called much in games, which means he didn't give up many big plays. Bad thing though it also means that he didn't make a lot of big plays. He was solid though as was Zach Diles. I don't see him losing his starting spot either. I also can't imagine us signing Mawae, and I prefer that they don't spend their money on a 39 year old center. Assuming we keep the zone scheme with Gibbs leaving I don't think Mawae has the agility to play in this system. I'd rather see a young Caldwell take over at Center for the years to come. He looked decent late in the year and he will only get better. I like the pics, I just don't think that many of them will come in and start. I think they will add good depth though, which is usually want you want to be doing in the draft outside of the first couple of rounds. I do think Earl Thomas would come in and start right away though, but that's more because of lack of depth in the safety position.
