Article about 290, westpark, and 90 commuter trains being heavily studied in chronicle today. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/new...rrowing-options-for-commuter-rail-5631622.php
Its funny because a friend of mine took up an internship in Houston. He told me he has trouble doing or seeing things because he doesnt have a car. And I immeadiately thought of da1's public transportation/light rail fetish.
Whenever newspaper access gets in the way, copy/paste the headline into google and click through the link from there. For some reason, the full article then shows up. Same thing happens for nytimes subscription articles.
Then he needs to ante up and burn some fxking fuel mkay. We aren't doin this hippy train **** just for poors like him
More frequencies of buses on the HOVs along those freeways would be much better than going to all the huge expenses of setting up trains...
Combo of federal, state and local funding including tax payer contributions and I'm perfectly fine with that. Some people will NEVER concede a satisfactory use of "their" tax dollars. In my opinion things like massive infrastructure upgrades (you know, like commuter rail that will help take automobiles off the road and provide people with actual transportation options). Heaven forbid we actually try to use our taxes to improve the overall quality of life in this city where far too often the only thing that matters is saving a few bucks.
Taxes are funny.. Austerity is a joke too, it's all manufactured in response to a problem that only exists because of excessive money printing in the first place.
There should just be one commuter line, connecting the Woodlands with Second Ward. Better yet, extend that connection out to Dallas. Problem solved.
