I don't have a link, but it seems several have heard him make this statement on his radio show within the last day or so.

Apparently, Riley had convinced Gasol to come over, but then Lebron made his decision...

LeBron actually texted Gasol before his announcement to prevent him from joining a potentially ****ty situation with p***y Bosh and knee-less Wade.

Good on LeBron and I'd say Gasol is a much better fit in Chicago as long as Rose returns to decent form.

Lebron, Gasol, Bosh would have still lost in the playoffs, so long as a 20M Wade was anchoring down that team. In the end, Lebron and Gasol made the right decision for winning, and Chris Bosh made the right decision for cashin' dem checks and avoiding the pressure of being a title contender.

I don't blame Bosh for accepting stupid money from Pat Riley. He would have been a fool to turn it down.

I guess if you leave out winning.

Right, because Pau was winning left and right on the Grizzles before he was traded to the Lakers.

Gasol/Bosh frontcourt would have been nasty.

I believe he at least made the playoffs.

Anyway, my statement was incomplete. Should have said "winning and defense".

Gasol got the playoffs by himself during his grizzly years. Kobe needed Pau more than Pau needed Kobe.

    Lol c'mon bro.

They got swept in the the first round every time, and Pau's defense isn't even that much better then Loves.

Anyone trying to say Gasol is better than Love at any point of his career should be banished to the shadow realm. Or perma'd. Whichever is more obtainable.

A Love team has never even made it to .500. You're really going to compare the two defensively? Go away now, little boy.

Gasol was better 2008-10 and 2012-13.

They needed each other equally. Pau wasn't going to win by himself just like Kobe was not going to win by himself. One was not more important than the other during their championship years.

So is that why Miami settled for Mcbob?

Wade-Deng-Gasol-Bosh would have been good enough for the 2nd round (at least)

LOL oh man, remember when everyone was convinced LeBron would stay in Miami when they drafted Napier? Simmons was pretty upset too
