Blade was the comic book movie that ushered in Marvel's reign of Kings of the Comic Book movie
I could say The Matrix did much about the showing the Efx were available for things like the XMen .

    That Said
Nirvana's importance is big .. . but i think Cobain's death sent it to a difference MAJOR Level

Dying Young and Tragically seems to boister and feed the legend

James Dean, TuPac, Marilyn Monroe, Biggie Smalls, etc etc etc

Whaaaa? Early 90s is as good of period for popular music as any in history. So many creative, new styles of rock and rap. It all happened so fast the record labels were clueless, so just they signed every group of kids who developed some sort of following, and they actually promoted it so many of them made it onto the radio.

Eh... I disagree. It was a piece of the puzzle, sure. But it wasn't a giant, mainstream hit like X-Men. Still, whatever - written by a comic book nerd who recalls, about high school, "a lot kids beat me up..."

As I said, "Nevermind" made it cool to not be "cool;" it gave voice and, by extension, power to a lot of disenfranchised kids.

the answer is still 1994. All of these albums and songs came out in the FIRST HALF of 1994.

    Green Day - Dookie
    NIN - The Downward Spiral
    Soundgarden - The Superunknown
    The Offspring - Smash
    Blur - Parklife
    Live - Throwing Copper
    Beastie Boys - Ill Communication

Then you have the debut albums for:
    Nas- Illmatic
    Outkast - Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik
    Weezer - Blue Album
    Warren G - Regulate..G Funk Era
Aaliyah - Age Ain't Nothing But a Number

    Singles in 1994:

    Loser by Beck
    I Swear by All-4-One
    Dreaming of You by Selena
Thuggish Ruggish Bone by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
Kiss From a Rose by Seal

The you have awesome Movie Soundtracks for:

Above the Rim (Regulate by Warren G)
Philadelphia (Streets of Philadelphia by Springsteen)
Reality Bites (Stay by Lisa Loeb)

After that you kept getting more hit after hit like

    Coolio's Fantastic Voyage
A whole slew of songs from Hootie and the Blowfish
    Oasis' debut album Definitely Maybe
Boyz II Men's epic "II" album
    Usher's Debut album

and then you get something called "Ready to Die" by a guy name Notorious BIG. And this only gets you to September of 1994.

Also notable IMO, you have Portrait of an American Family by Marilyn Manson in July and Bush with Sixteen Stone in December of 1994 along with Nirvana absolutely crushing MTV Unplugged. Also TLC was kind of a big thing too.
