Please keep this to talk about the series. As usual no Play-by-Play, or general Astros talk. If you need play by play see one of the many other sites that have game casts.

    WLWW...

R.A. Dickey has been pitching lights out so I am hesitant about that one but Myers has been darn good too while pretty confident Wandy and Norris can close the deal, no worse then a split with a darn good chance at 3 out of 4.

The Astros are 3 games over .500 since 1 June.

    Still in WC contention.

    Stros lineup...

    KEPP
    Sanchez
    Pence
    Lee
    J-Mike
    CJ
    Wallarus
    Castro
    Wandy

Bourn getting a dayoff and J-Mike gets a start in his place.

Okay this needs to be the start of a crazy miracle run for Chris Johnson. By some miracle I really want him to get at least 95 hits/walks/hbp/sacrifices by the end of the season. Probably not possible, but it is something to root for.

That and Bourne getting 26+ more SB's.

@Buster_ESPN: Two third base types who have cleared waivers -- Geoff Blum and Craig Counsell. Blum is making $1.5 million this year and he's (more)

Some good news for the next 2 weeks...

@injuryexpert: Just confirmed with team source - Francisco Rodriguez injured thumb in incident, likely done for season.

And just a tidbit for the offseason on a guy who could be had CHEAP...

@Gambo620: There is virtually no chance that the Dbacks will show any interest in bringing Brandon Webb back next year even on an incentive laden deal

I'm not sure how cheap he will come. Look at the one year deals signed by Sheets and Harden. Then again, neither worked out too great, so maybe teams will be more leery. Amazing that the Webb/Haren/Jackson trio could be completely gone that quickly.

I hope he at least maintains the .BA lead for all rookies. Buster Posey got so much hype on ESPN for his hot start and they don't even talk about Johnson now.

That's the nature of the beast, and I'm not just talking about ESPN.

Posey has been a top prospect from day one and there are high expectations for him. He was getting a lot of hype even while at FSU.

If CJ manages to perform anywhere near this level into next season, he'll get plenty of attention.

In fact, I seem to recall seeing his name mentioned in several places over the past few weeks, possibly even by ESPN. It's hard to ignore the way he's hitting right now.

Niese and Wandy are looking strong early, if the NY just had a little patience they would have one nice rotation next season.

Anyone remember the offseason when our options for 2B were Luis Castillo and Kaz? Castillo decided to play for Minaya again and we got stuck with Kaz. I remember being so pissed then. Looking back they both sucked but we got Kaz for cheaper and fewer years so it looks like we won out anyway.

Defensive clinic out there by the Mets.

Michaels managed to outdo them all though. I thought he had no chance to get to it off the bat.

I said a few weeks ago that we should sign a cheap but quality pitcher like Webb or even Vazquez. Someones gonna overpay thought, like the Cubs or the Brewers
