as of 01/13/05 (morning) Western Conference Team GB 1. * Phoenix -- 2. * San Antonio 2.5 3. * Seattle 5.0 4. Dallas 7.5 5. Sacramento 7.5 6. LA Lakers 11.5 7. Houston 12.5 8. Minnesota 13.0 9. Memphis 13.0 10. LA Clippers 13.0 11. Portland 15.0 12. Denver 15.5 13. Utah 18.5 14. Golden State 20.0 15. New Orleans 26.0 not too bad, we made up alot of ground in Dec. and we are starting off pretty well in Jan. The top 4 seem to be a lock for the playoffs and I cant believe how much Minny fell in the standings. J
I can't believe we are in 7th place after having such a crappy start. Minni will step it up somehow, Memphis and Denver will probably make a turn around. I doubt the Clips and Blazers will be in the picture come playoff time.
It is all up to the Rockets. The team that has played the last 10 quarters can beat anyone...if they can keep it up, they will be ok..... Intensity needs to remain high...... DD
Intensity- exactly The battle has begun and it will be a dogfight- Houston, Memphis, Minn- one of these will be left out and very unhappy. We must prevail- every game is important. No nights off. Injuries are very important this stage of the season, we enter the GRIND.
Its possible we will be a 6th seed tonight, if we beat the Nets and the Lakers lose to the Cavs. Who would've thought at this point we would be a 7th seed and moving up?
The Rockets can still tie the season series against the Fakers. It's not inconceivable that we pass them in the standings.
Did anyone notice that the Knicks lead their division with a 17-18 record? What a f'n joke. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/standings
Yeah, I noticed that..... and yeah, that is an f'n joke. They may go in as a 3 seed with a losing record. In that case, would they get home court? I can't remember if its based on seeding or by record.
I believe home court advantage is determined by winning percentages, not seeding. Division leader will be automatically placed at #1, #2, and #3 seeds regardless of winning percentages. It's just before we never seen a division leader to have a worse record than the #7 and #8 seed!
Hard to believe that Minnesota sucks so mightily; hard to believe that Seattle and Phoenix are so strong (well, I knew Phoenix would be decent, what with adding Steve Nash, but still...).... Now if we can just keep firing on all cylinders. The challenge tonight is not to come out weary, thinking New Jersey will just lay down now that Jefferson is no longer there.
well, glad most other teams in the West agreed on sucking this season to allow us to hang around. About the east, that is just unreal. 17-18 record and leading your division. Man.....that's just sad.
Yeah. The Eastern Conference amazes me. There was all that talk that with the Pistons, the Pacers, Shaq moving to the East and the emergence of Lebron that we can't call it the Leastern Conference anymore, but just look at those standings. It's really sad.
