Kadour Ziani is 5'11", supposedly has a 56" vertical, has legs like toothpicks, and looks like a damn Turkish sheepherder with bad teeth. Oh, and he can kick a ball that's wedged between the rim and the backboard. :D

The 50 inch vertical jump is standing flat footed though, no shuffling of feet, no step or anything, just think about it for a second.....

The guy has done a standing elbow hang dunk before! Only once though, it requires insane timing

I haven't seen anyone even try do it over 6 feet, I don't think even Dwight Howard could do it :)

Just expanding on what CoolColJ was getting at, a lot of people tend to think "vertical" just means how high you can jump. That's not really it. It's how high straight up with no momentum...so a lot of people (Ziani for example, who is strictly a one-foot jumper) don't necessarily have crazy verticals even though they can jump really high with an approach or a running start.

It's not to say that someone like Ziani isn't impressive, because he most certainly is. But "vertical" is a term that I think is thrown around pretty loosely when it's really meant to describe something very specific.

Anyway, in regards to the original thread topic...that is insane. I don't know why they did the entire video using still images though. Would have even more impressive with some live action thrown in.

Damn...this gives me hope that I can increase my vertical by squatting this summer.
