This looks like Mailck's 'The New World' a little too much

Looked pretty awesome to me -- some great camera work in those trailers.

Another Oscar nom (and loss) for Leo? Trailer looks great, though.

Didn't know it's based on a real person.

Not sure, no real front runner so far this year. I think the dude definitely deserves one, but he better hurry up while Daniel Day-Lewis is still on sabbatical.

19th century man seeks out revenge against those who left him to die + shoot outs & natives.

There is also a precedent for snow westerns. The Great Silence, Jeremiah Johnson and Tarantino's upcoming Hateful Eight

Iñárritu, Leo and Hardy? Wow, this is definitely going to be an amazing movie.

Watch the Oscars go to this movie for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor for Hardy, while Leo leaves with another nomination. Again.

I love Dicaprio movies. I can't remember a year where he should have won the Oscar over the person that actually did but he's certainly had a number of legit opportunities. He'll get one eventually.

Kind of a side note... but what is the biggest Oscar snub Leo ever experienced?? I think his best film was The Departed, but he was just one of many revolving parts in that movie (Warner Bros asked him to label himself as supporting actor, so he was actually nominated for Blood Diamond instead... weaker movie overall). Many argue about the Titanic, but he wasn't playing out of his element or taking a bold acting spot (kind of ridiculous he didn't at the very least get a nomination for it though). Personally, I loved him in Django. Although it wasn't as lead actor, I think not getting a nomination for supporting actor was a travesty. I'd love to hear others' thoughts on Leo's string of Oscar snubs.

According to Hollywood Gossip lore, the biggest snub came the year of Titanic. Leo got no Oscar nomination even though he was the male lead in a $2 billion dollar phenomena that racked up something like 12 Oscar noms.

The best actor category wasn't all that (Matt Damon got a nod for GWH) and his costar Winslet got a nom. Anyway, the story is the Academy wanted Leo at the show to present an award and to draw the tween girl Titanic audience that propelled Titanic to legend status. Leo said no and didn't bother showing up.

The story is this pissed off a large swath of blue hair academy members and thus Leo is to be denied an Oscar win until such time as these members die.

I've been looking forward to this since I heard about it in development. Just a amazingly great story, and how could you complain about the director or cast?

Now if "they" could get somebody to make Blood Meridian....

That's a different movie though. Called Assassin's Creed. Starring Magneto.
