Our generation might be close behind. We're being judged, and it won't be pretty.

    Worst 2 term president ever.

It's waaaaaaaaaaay too early to do this type of 'analysis'. Totally bogus study.

I notice most "historians" would probably need to be profs from Universities. These are the same guys who wear sandals, granola, and pony tails (on dudes). The crazy unilateral results make me think it is biased.

Also it might be a sign of the times.

    Dot-Com burst
    9-11-2001 attacks
    Iraq
    subprime mortgage crisis

Crappy 8 years overall, the only one Bush could be directly linked to is Iraq.

Perception is more important than fact (you of all people should know that jorge).

People have made their minds up about Jr. too bad it took the deaths of 4000 Americans and 30,000 wounded.

    That is...pitiful.

But we all know what disaster his terms have been.

I cannot believe more is not made of the wounded. We have so few deaths (relative to other wars) because our MedEvac system, and regional hospitals are so awesome now.

Obviously is much better to be alive but with the only number seen being deaths, we are really not getting a clear picture of how intense this war is.

This is compounded by the fact that so many are from IEDs and the wounded from these usually are missing some limbs. :(

The Bush administration will not be judged kindly in the way they have administered to these people.

This will be the true cost of the war.

If the Bush administration cared about these people, they would not have sent them in Iraq based on lies in the first place. The judgment was passed long ago.

Their position isn't going to change just because soldiers lost limbs.

Well beyond not invading Iraq I don't think they could prevent these guys from getting nailed with IEDs.

Obviously using .5 mil troops might have helped but increasing the numbers to that degree would probably mean more deaths just from having them over there.

As much as I hate to say it, T_J has a legitimate point here. A Presidency must be judged a generation after it is over to really put things in historical perspective without being influenced by heat of the moment exuberance or disappointment.

Ultimately, I do not think history will view this administration favorably. How bad it is viewed can only be seen in retrospect.

He definitely isnt the worst EVER. Ther is absolutely no way you can objectively evaluate him while he is still in office.

Subprime you can blame the fed, but that 3 trillion dollar debt has greatly devalued the dollar, which is the reason we have 3 dollar gas and 4 dollar milk. Also bush is the guy who put Bernake in charge> Bernake along with Greenspan caused this bubble.

My guess is you have seen this argument a ton in here so I won't go to deep but as someone who has many friends in Iraq and vets.......

I think the vehicles were fine. Like I said before our problems are IEDs and the up armored HMMVW's won't stop that size blast. On patrols the USMC guys I talked to said they would sometimes remove the doors or sit on the "trunk" so they could engage quicker.

Anytime its a firefight it was pretty onesided.
