http://www.sportsnet.ca/basketball/nba/report-raps-fined-for-drakes-durant-comments/ Lol the NBA is jokes
Why do you say that? Drake is actually an official spokesperson for the Raptors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_Raptors http://www.theglobeandmail.com/spor...-flash-promote-all-star-game/article14597789/ Are you saying that teams should be able to circumvent tampering by having the celebrity spokespeople recruit at huge, public venues or twitter, on talk shows, etc. They should definitely be fined for comments he makes that the NBA deems tampering, just like what coaches, owners, GMs or players say. He's a representative of the Raptors. No representative of a team can recruit a signed player. That's tampering. It's only $25k fine. This does not harm the team, but puts out a warning shot. It's hard to prove sometimes, but this is way too obvious. Drake can't say that. Imagine Morey saying that.
Drake will just pay the fine himself. $25k is nothing to him, he started from the bottom and now he's here.
Money well spent. Even if they don't get Durant, they should at least be mentioned all the time and shed negative image when it comes to location. It's a big modern market, and ever since they've hired Tim Leiweke they are thinking and acting like a good market as opposed to a lesser Milwaukee.
Don't know if true: There's a lot going on in this Cathal Kelly column on the $25,000 tampering fine the NBA levied on the Raptors for some Kevin Durant comments made by "global ambassador" Drake at a concert, but I'd like to draw your attention to this item: [Raptors officials] refused to address a key detail – that the NBA offered to drop the tampering fine if the team agreed to strip Drake of his title. The Raptors apparently refused. http://deadspin.com/report-nba-offered-to-drop-tampering-fine-if-raptors-d-1620719910?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_twitter&utm_source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow
I'm going to make a guess. If teams start trying to use celebrity reps as "recruiters" as some type of loophole to avoid tampering, someone will eventually get a more painful penalty, like significant millions or worse, voided trades or lost picks.
He uses a Walkie Talkie just to get a beverage... $25,000 is so overrated....... ....NI99A we MADE IT!!!!!
I know everyone hates Drake, but this dude genuinely supports his team. Can't hate on a man for that. Yeah he has side pieces (whatever team Bron is on) but he's never dropped his loyalty to the Raptors.
And the miami heat, half of the SEC mens basketball teams, half of the big 12 teams and the face of wack hip hop
The Raptors were fined, not Drake. And also, Drake is an official spokesperson for the team, therefore anything he says about the NBA represents THEM. The fine was justified.
