Any nature show fans out there? I've been seeing trailers for this at the movie theater, and it looks pretty bad ass. It's the first nature show shot entirely in HD (although I don't have an HDTV...sorry tinman :(). It still looks pretty cool, even in regular definition.

It starts this Sunday at 7:00 with three episodes, then 2 episodes each on the following four Sundays.

I just got my sony bravia 46" lcd and it looks AMAZING in HD for that show! I was watching the discovery HD channel and it is jaw dropping. I wish there was more HD programming like that.

The best nature show/film that I have seen in a long, long time came on the other night on PBS.

It was called Winged Migration. Apparently it won an Oscar. It was amazing, first because it just showed the birds and didn't load it down with lots of editing or people talking.

But more importantly they had incredible shots from cameras mounted on gliders which flew along with the migrating birds, so you could see from their viewpoint. Truly the best nature shots I have ever seen. If I hadn't known otherwise, I would have thought it had to be CGI. Truly the best nature photography ever. I'm going to rent it from Netflix just so I can see it again in HD.

    Edit:

A couple of clips from youtube.

    Winged Migration was great.

I've been looking forward to this show for awhile. I'll be watching.

Do you have HD? If you do, then you should start watching Sunrise Earth. It is an hour show every morning that basically just tapes the sunrise in a very natural area.

I have HD, even the commercials look great for this show. For those of you with HD-DVD players, the show will be coming out on HD-DVD later this year.

I like DC, but I've never watched as much as I have now that I see it on an HDTV. Pretty damn impressive.

Wasn't Planet Earth shown a before? I see these commercials, but I have a 'Planet Earth' from DC on my DVR from months ago.
