How do you ban websites from you computer so your browser won't be able to access it? I am talking about a permanant and irreversible solution. I am currently addicted to this website call clutchfans.net, and the only solution I can come up with for this terrible addiction is to ban this website from my computer.

I am serious and anyone wants to help?

Firefox doesn't have that kind of capability I don't think, or if it does I couldn't find one.

You can ban it on IE by going through your Internet Options menu - whatever sites you want are password-lockable.

That is just a shame that you have come to this lol..but on IE

Tools - Internet Options - Content

Privacy Tab then you can click on Sites Button. From there add what you want to block

You can do what amfootball did and start a thread asking for Clutch to delete your account.

I think it was sometime last month. It must have been removed because I don't see it any more.

    DeAleck,

If you really want to leave and not be able to come back ask Clutch to ban you.

If you learn to accept your addiction, it's much easier to live with...

Call out all of the CC admins and question their manhood, their ancestors, etc.

Posting a bunch of dirty pictures to random forums might work too.

It's no use. Even if you ban it from your computer... you'll be okay without ClutchFans for a few hours... maybe even a day. And then it hits you and you have to get back on.

You'll find ways... logging on from the computer at work... your friend's computer... family members...neighbors....

Before you know it, you're connected from a blackberry or a cell phone. And that's when you realize that you've got an addiction and you need help.

And it's a vicious cycle, too. You have an addiction. You need help. So to get help, you post a thread on the bbs (as you have done here) and you have to read the bbs to learn how to escape the bbs.

So, you think to yourself, "maybe I'll just do something stupid on the bbs and get banned! Then I can't login from anywhere!" But you know that you can read the bbs as a guest. And you and I both know that after a very short while, you'll just create a new account. Yeah, the post count will be down to zero, but you'll have your fix.

Really, there is no solution. It's a black hole. That's why bbs membership continues to skyrocket. You can't escape. I can't escape.

    My sweet, loving, comfortable prison.

I have found (you can find) happiness in slavery.

Hmm here is one way of doing it:

Try to locate any existing hosts file on your computer:

    Windows 95/98/Me c:\windows\hosts

    Windows NT/2000/XP Pro c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

    Windows XP Home c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

(you may need administrator access for Windows NT/2000/XP)

then add these lines on the bottom of the file:

    127.0.0.1 www.clutchfans.com
    127.0.0.1 bbs.clutchfans.com

You shouldn't be able to load these web pages after that... To undo simply delete these lines..
