    C- Yao- 22 pts, 11 rebs, 3 assist, 2.5 blks, 55% fg, 80% ft (conservative estimate)

    PF- Howard- 22 pts, 8 rebs, 4.4 assist, 49% fg, 75% ft (1995 season)

    SF- Jimmy Jackson- 25.7, 5.1 rebs, 3.8 assists, 47% fg, 78% ft (1994)

SG- TMAC- 32 pts, 6.5 rebs, 5.5 assists

PG- Mark Jackson- 10 pts, 5 rebs, 12 assists, 42% fg, 80% ft

    Backups

    C- Mutombo- 11 pts, 14 rebs, 3.3 blks, 55% fg, 70% ft. (1997)

PF- Mo Taylor- 17 pts, 6 rebs

SF- Weatherspoon- 18 pts, 10 rebs, 48% fg, 80% ft

I guess you can interpret these stats in 2 ways.

Either, we are an amazing team

    or

    We are REALLY old

But I think this team can match up against ANY CURRENT TEAM AT THEIR PLAYERS PRIMES

You could make this same point for many of the current contending teams, and even several that aren't...

If they were all in their primes Yao wouldnt get the dang ball which would cause a hell of a uproar from the YOF camp around here(I just felt like using YOF in a sentence since nobody uses that term around here anymore) But seriously we wouldn't have been able to trade for them if they were in their primes. No dude in his right mind is going to take pike and wilks for mutumbo is in his prime. ok, well maybe krause would have but moochie for weatherspoon who is just entering his prime?

but you are right, we have the best "when they were in their prime team' in the league. :D

i think JJ serves this team better now than when he was putting up moster points on other teams. never undervalue the value of a solid, intelligent roleplayer.

I would rather have Drexler, Barkley and Dream all in thier primes. Hell, only play two of them a night if you feel like it, it wouldn't matter.

It would have been nice. Only one of those guys played with Houston during their prime. If you think about it, it's really going to be a gift to watch (knock on wood) the next ten years of Yao and T-Mac.

OK, "KNOCK on WOOD". What does THAT mean and where did THAT originate? I mean, how come no one ever said "knock on plastic" or "knock on paper"? Will someone come up with the prase "knock on mars" when we do Space Exploration?
