Jesus, based on what I read here today, you'd think we're guaranteed a spot at the bottom of the standings for the next decade.

    Facts:

    * We have not hired a coach yet. Anyone who's been interviewed and not specifically ruled out is still in play.

    * Mike D'Antoni isn't the worst coach available. He's had a degree of success at this level, and in fact, Steve Nash's best years came in D'Antoni's system. You could also argue that Jeremy Lin benefited greatly, too. And despite all the teeth-gnashing and wailing around here, D'Antonti isn't even our coach yet.

    * Regardless of what you've convinced yourself, our owner isn't one of the cheapest in the league.

    * Regardless of what you've convinced yourself, our GM is one of the best in the league at bringing in talent. Yes, much better than CD ever was. Building a championship team takes time and usually involves setbacks unless LeBron decides to sign with you as a FA.

    * Hakeem is not walking back through that door. Harden is our best shot and getting deep into the playoffs, surrounded by the right talent and the right coach.

    * The freakin' SPURS have had two disappointing playoffs in a row after their title run three years ago, losing in the 2nd round this year after betting bounced in the 1st round last year. Nothing is guaranteed!

So with all that in mind, quit acting like little b****es. Seriously. Most of you guys sound like 3rd graders who found out the field trip to the zoo got canceled. "Not another dollar to you, Les!" and "Let management know we will not back a D'Antoni-led team!" and "e-mail fanear@rocketball.com to protest D'Antoni possible coaching!" and "Should Les sell the team?" and "ANTI DANTONI RALLY" and "Public Apology To Kevin McHale" and "Official Fire D'Antoni Thread" (okay, that last one's kinda funny).

Blah, blah, blah. Grow a pair (except you, KlutchQT). Quit being such pu$$ies.

    Topfive out.

I hope that's how Morey introduces D'Antoni. Here's Mike D'Antoni, not the worst coach available y'all.

This guy was an assistant coach for Team USA. Hand Picked. Let's not act like he's some scrub who knows nothing.

He wasn't my first, second or third choice but if he's the guy then fk it. Let's see what he can do with a top tier defensive assistant and some serious finishers like KJ, Harrell and Capela.

I think the disappointment is that we know we are going to be a subpar defensive team next year with MDA.

I think everyone is reeling from the last 8 months and just itching to jump on anything that seems off.

    I get that, but...

    a) MDA isn't our coach right now and may not ever be.

    b) With Clutchfans-darling JVG we would've gotten a subpar offensive team and a coach who talks a lot about wanting his team to play at a faster pace. We've already seen that movie and it sucked donkey balls, remember?

    c) Les obviously likes MDA-style offense. Let's hope Morey can talk him down off of that ledge.

    d) Watch what happens with another Clutchfans darling, Luke Walton, when he takes the reins of a young team with a questionable roster and crappy chemistry. He's not driving the Warriors' Rolls Royce anymore, he's now behind the wheel of the Lakers' used Corolla.

I don't see how one necessarily follows the other. Would we necessarily be a subpar team offensively if we hired Vogel or JVG? Of course not, we have James Harden who carried this team to 7th in offensive efficiency this year. Why couldn't we be a better defense team with Pringles and slightly different roster and two defensive minded assistant coaches?

Point differential matters more than simply being great at one side of the ball, which is what Pringles, JVG, and Vogel have in common. This could be a sneaky good fit if we get a good overall coaching staff with a decent free agency this offseason. Then again, that could be said of JVG or Vogel.

I think the one thing that isn't debatable is that James Harden in our lineup is the quickest, most realistic shot at a championship. Pairing a great offensive coach with a great offensive isn't outrageous? Maybe it doesn't work, but I can see where this could work.

Sure, we haven't hired D'Antoni yet. He's just the front runner with our FO. So get a grip.

Your wife hasn't married the neighbor yet. She just flirt with him a lot. So get a grip. :p

Nash made D'Antoni, not the other way around. What did he do after the Suns?
