    But lately, I've seen enough...

    Pros:

    -Helps Houston Area community
    -Cute Smile
-Still can go off occasionally in terms of scoring and rebounding
-Does what's asked of him, even amongst trade rumors and drama (which I respect since everyone would talk trash about him regardless of what he said)

    Cons:

-Slows down the offense because he can't get up the floor quickly.
-Susceptible to being hacked, taking away offensive possessions which we ABSOLUTELY cannot have if we want to utilize Harden and Durant effectively.
-Reluctant to close out shooters when defending a pick and pop
-Mentally disengages in games too easily, and collects stupid technicals
    -Wants a huge contract
-Commits goaltending quite often, as if he must reach for the ball if he spent the energy jumping
-Doesn't post up well, which would be fine if he could pass out of the post, which he isn't terrible at, but still below average, and usually results in a turnover
-"Get him more shots" He's actually getting more shots then stats would suggest, since FG attempts aren't counted when he's fouled

Is Dwight still a Superstar? No. Can he play like an all-star? Yes. Is he worth the price he wants? No.

Instead of letting him opt out, we should've traded him for whatever we could get at the time. This season is a wash, since even if we make the playoffs, our coaching won't take us anywhere.

Does this really need a thread? Sounds like a perfect post for the "is dwight still elite" thread.

Having said that, he's been piss poor for a few weeks.

Signing Howard back then was a no-brainer. Chasing him was as well. It worked out.

He is a net negative at this point in my opinion. I don't think he is all that good defensively anymore and seems to be regressing in regards to FT shooting and finishing at the rim.

I think we would be just as good with a rotation of some basic center (Koufus or what not) and Capela.

Last year was our best chance at a championship in 18 years, it would have been idiotic not to sign him.

Now that he's sharply declined this season, it may be time to part ways.

The decline started last year. It's called missing 41 games due to injury issues.

i beleive he still has it to be a 2nd or 3rd option depending on his team, but i question whether he still wants it. i def want him back on a smaller contract but only if he isnt gonna repeat this season.

He was a lot more effective defensively in the games he did play last year, as well as the playoffs.

His decline actually started with the back injury in Orlando but he was still very good to elite defensively until this season.

I really do think most of his "issues" are related to his back. Can't excuse the mental lapses tho...

So where were you last year? Were you about to jump off a bridge?

I'm pretty sure no one this season is gay. We are all pretty upset about the way this season has been so far, no time for joy and gayness. ;)

The worst thing about Dwight, and why he's probably given up in most cases, is the refs will always brutalize him. Yes it is his fault sometimes but that camera does shift away when the opponent actually instigated it. How can you have a center that doesn't have that veteran b-ball iq (poor or bad passes / bad vision for the game) and also is always on the refs' bad sides? It's not going to work out.

We were not a contender last year.
