Mario proclamming himself as the "original junkyard dog" was classic......and how about Kenny "the Jet".

After Inside the NBA's "This date in NBA History" which showed Game 5 Denver at Seattle in 1994......Kenny Smith uttered this......

"You think Denver was happy, you should have seen us in the lockeroom, we hadn't beaten Seattle in like 9 games in a row or something. We were rolling on the floor like Mutombo was. We said to ourselves...HEY we can go to the Finals now."

That quote was funny and it was RIGHT too. I believe there was no way we could have beaten Seattle becuase they had nearly all matchups in their favor. The Rockets could never handle their trapping defenses.

Kenny Smith's car analogies can be annoying, but other than that, I thought he was very good tonight.

As the Rockets had problems with Seattle's trapping defense then, Western conference big men will have problems with the zone, now. I am hoping for Rudy to add a Seattle style "trapping defense". Don't know how the rockets guards would fare though.

That's fantastic!! I can't believe Kenny actually said that. I love it! [IMG]

I said almost the exact same thing when Denver won that series! Seattle bounced us out of the playoffs, what... 3 years in a row before that? Watching them go down was like watching the Red Sea part before us.

Lil Francis, I think Stith started for that squad, too. One of the Williamses was off the bench.

If I remember correctly, the starting 5 was

    C Mutombo
    PF Ellis
    SF R. Williams
    SG Stith
    PG Abdul-Rauf

Pack got a lot of playing time in that series...I remember thinking how crazy it was that Pack was so hot from 3 point land when he shot something like a negative percentage for the season.

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

Isn't it refreshing to think that destiny was on our side back in 94 n 95? seattle was our bogey team if it wasn't for them, imho we would have 3 peated by bouncing the Suns and getting a crack at Michaelangelo and his Bulls. i suppose what goes around comes around. i mean what about all those times when we beat twice in classic 7 game serieses?
