Some mock drafts have us taking Terrence Jones at 14, Phillidelphia taking Perry Jones III at 15.
    My question is Easy :
If both are on the board when Rockets are on the clock, which Jones do you choose?

    T.J or P.J.3...or neither?

PJ III. We need to roll the dice in all honesty. TJ has a higher chance of contributing, but he will never be more than that while PJ III has star potential (however hard it may be to reach that).

Perry Jones does not have star potential.

If you disagree, and have actually watched his games, I'd love to hear the counter argument.

I would draft neither of these guys.

As long as we draft Wroten or Melo(if we don't get Leonard or Zeller) with #18 I'm good.

As Davis is to MKG, Drummond is to PJ3 for the biggest boom-or-bust player in the draft. In a vaccuum I'd choose TJ because I think he has less bust rate while being an athletic freak himself, but considering we already got solid players on the squad I would have chosen PJ3. I think its really scary PJ3 ended up on OKC, he's fall was the biggest in the draft (lower end of lottery to 19th?), and he might start playing with a chip on his shoulder, esp. since OKC is ruled by KD and high character guys who put in serious work in their game.

I hope it isn't Greene over Batum all over again.

PJ3 is overrated IMO. I think he'll be a bust but who knows.

PJIII is a lot more athletic, so it's a given that he'll have much better handles.

That's been my position all along until the draft and seeing him in summer league. Where he was picked, the word "bust" doesn't apply. Also, PJ3 looked more comfortable than I imagined, has very good court vision and played physical & big during his abbreviated time at Orlando.

He won't get much opportunity next season with OKC and they don't need or expect much from him as a rookie. If healthy, wouldn't surprise me if he ends up a good rotation player in the NBA.

Perhaps a bit premature to be bumping this thread, but after summer league, preseason and almost 10 games into the regular season... I'll take Terremce Jones all day long at 18.

On a side note, regarding our power forward issue, I came across this...

    http://spacecityscoop.com/2012/11/16/houston-rockets-why-they-should-trade-for-amare-stoudemire/

A healthy Stoudemire probably makes this team, as constructed, the 4th or 5th seed in the west...

    It's interesting, but no thanks...

We're going to trade 2 rookie contracts for a Max contract? I hope stern lets this slide. :)

As a Baylor fan, I might have biases.

That said, Terrence Jones is the right pick. You just can't teach the aggression Perry needs to take advantage of his physical skillset. His patience would only help him if he had the strength to really move bodies around in the post. Without that, he has to be more aggressive in the face-up game, and he just isn't.

Terrence Jones was my preference on draft day, and still is today.

We could have had both. I liked PJ better than Royce anyway.
