nice composition on the mountains, bridge and river. i really like the first one. the tiny train adds depth and mass to the mountains. the bird could use some work though. it's a bit busy, maybe try using a larger aperture for less depth of field. i'm an amateur too so take it for what it's worth.

    what are you shooting with?

Yeah, but how do these photos look before you put them through Photoshop, LightRoom, or whatever software it is that adds those effects and tag line?

:p Can't give you an honest opinion until you show me the original photos, Stephen.

No one else did either when they first started.

Is that Royal Gorge in the top 4? That's one of the first places I ever tried to seriously photograph. You did better than I did:grin:

Other than the obviously gay name Stephen Park in the corner, nice photos.

Royal Gorge, or a damn good imitation! I went there on a trip to Colorado in the late '60's and took some shots. One that I don't see, RedRedemption, is a shot straight down from the middle of the bridge. The image closest to that looks like you took it closer to one end of the bridge, not that it matters. Hey, a very nice job for a beginner! I'll add that you bought a damn fine camera to take them with. That helps one hell of a lot, and will serve you well in the future. :)-

All kidding aside Red, maybe you should email back and forth with Jeff, he is a great photog, and RockHead as well, both quality members here.

Great advice. Those two are probably the best I've seen that have posted on the board. Those two, and SamFisher, who is also outstanding.

Sam Fisher is not outstanding at anything other than churning the chocolate in Willy Wonkas factory with the other ooompa loompas.

    ;)

Looks good. I'd like to see you take some gato pictures. Buy like 20 gatos and take pics of them for a whole week. See what kind of crazy stuff those darned kitties get into! I'm gonna go cuddle with one right now!

    Yep.
It turns out even if you take fundamentally bad pictures the remarkable landscape itself makes up for it.

UPDATE: I really need to learn to multi-quote...
    Sorry mods.

Uhhh. Everyone that gave helpful advice got repped. :)
