Ted Cruz is now in a statistical dead heat with Donald Trump in Iowa. If Cruz wins Iowa, the first contest of the Republican primary season, hold on to your hat. From Politico:

I haven't followed enough of Cruz to know either way. What exactly is the article lying about but I am interested in bias.

    It's your time to shine.

    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

In keeping with that theme, Texas Monthly has published a special Thanksgiving article about Ted Cruz and why we should be thankful for him. Spoiler: Ted Cruz is the one who will take down the Donald.

    Here is an excerpt:

Racist, Bigot and does not believe in constitutional rights... or at least not the constitution as its currently written. Ted Cruz embodies what is wrong with the republican party.

Ted Cruz is just a better spoken trump. He will pander to hate and racism of the extreme right and yet still be able to be palatable enough by the middle-right as he codes his language to disguise what Trump is more blunt about.

Ironic, given your approach to Hillary and all her fake scandals. And your approach to posting every tweet or video you can find about Cruz.

Here's how it works. All weather data is evidence of climate change. There is no outcome that would ever disprove the claim.

And not matter what, the solution is always wealth redistribution, taxation, regulation, prohibition.

Even better, almost any human activity can be tied to it. It gives the state license to control anything they want. And because it is a global problem, it can be imposed as a national (or even better, global) policy. Often via the EPA without the consent of Congress.

    It's a statist's wet dream.

Are professional liars. The GOP bag men are crapping their pants that Trump, who both supports affordable healthcare and opposes free trade, is going to win the Republican nomination. Nothing less than 100% pure neocon will satisfy them. It speaks volumes about their desperation that the GOP would consider Cruz taking Iowa as a victory for the establishment.

Trump is going to win the nomination, and he'll win it all, because the American people are fed up with free trade and outsourcing. Democrats only hope is to counter with Sanders. Clinton, on the other hand, represents everything wrong with the Democratic party. If voters are stupid enough to nominate her, then they have no one to blame but themselves when Trump is sworn in as commander and chief.

PS, you won't beat Trump by calling him names, but that's another discussion for another day.

So Ted Cruz is this election's version of Pat Buchanan, who said George H. W. Bush should be thankful he impaled David Duke.

I guess this sets the table for Rubio.

Probably the same thing was said of Senator Joe McCarthy until the senate and soon after the public got tired of his antics... and soon he faded away.

Except this time around the sensationalistic and unfounded assertions and the over-the-top efforts at McCarthy-style bullying tactics are coming from you people, as we see illustrated in the posts quoted above.

GF yourselves. That was the final verdict that was rendered on McCarthy's crew and their crap. And I am calling it now, it is the final verdict on this same style of behavior now being perpetrated by the American left, including a number of you here in this forum.

You can't give a specific example because it's bull****. Face it, half the right is racist, which is why they support trump. They guy is openly pandering to fear of immigrants, Muslims, and blacks. Why are the minorities always wrong and white christians always right?

Ted Cruz openly lies and makes up things the left says or wants. I mean, listening to his quotes about how the left wants you to believe this or that - no, that's not what the lefts wants at all. That's just pure scummy propaganda.

You have no clue what liberals want, you are too busy listening to garbage right wing nuts who define that for the left.

McCarthyism was McCarthyism because he was a political leader. Here is an example of unfounded assertions from politicial leaders:

Historical context is too taxing for some people.

    So is creativity.

Actually that's a great example of how a strawman and irrational exaggeration works.

Climate scientists aren't policy advocates. And they aren't looking at weather data, they are looking at the world's heat content and impact it has on global processes and sea levels.

It takes massive arrogance and ignorance to dismiss climate science as merely weather data. You're politicizing science which is pretty dangerous.

Donald Trump has made Cruz look more presidential, as compared to Trump, Cruz is clearly the adult in the room.

This is the type of simple minded nonsense that is why you are so hard to take seriously. I get that you want to demonize those who think differently than you, but it makes you sound like an infant.

I suppose I should have expected a childish response like that. Anyway, here's to hoping you get better when you grow up.
