    I was looking for some good recipes. The fiance and I were getting sick of the same old foods. We need some new food ideas and recipes. I thought I saw a thread on this before but I couldnt find it. Thanks in advance.

    Here's a simply one but I'll post more later:

    BLT Dip

    Ingredients:

    1 cup of mayonnaise
    1/2 cup of ranch dressing or sour cream
    1 pack of real bacon bits
    1 tomato, diced small
    1/2 tsp of pepper

    Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Serve cool with Wheat Thins or your favorite cracker or chips.

    I have found three grilled chicken marinade recipes that I use a LOT. I can personally vouch for each of these being delicious.

    My trifecta of grilled chicken:

    Unbelievable Chicken

    Unnamed Chicken Marinade

    Yummy Honey Chicken

    (note: the last recipe is a kabob recipe. I don't cook it as kabobs. I just marinate the chicken in the mixture of soy sauce, veggie oil, honey, garlic, and black pepper.)

    Nothing better than a good puffy taco. I've almost never had a good one outside of San Antonio. The one place I have is in Round Rock...and that's only because the owner had a place in SA for 20 years before relocating.

    My wife makes this and my kids go nuts over it. Good stuff.

    Shoyu Chicken

    Ingredients

    * 3/4 cup brown sugar
    * 1/2 cup vinegar
    * 3/4 cup soy sauce
    * 1 teaspoon ginger
    * 1 teaspoon garlic
    * 1 1/2 cups water
    * 8-12 pieces skinless chicken thighs

    Directions
    1. Mix all ingredients, except chicken, in a bowl.
    2. Place chicken in a crock pot and pour sauce on top.
    3. Cook on low heat for about six hours, stirring occasionally.

    This is a good one we tried last week:

    Mexican Lasagna

    1 (15-ounce) can pinto, pink or black beans, drained and rinsed
    1 (14-ounce) can diced crushed tomatoes
    1/4 C. chopped cilantro
    1 clove finely minced garlic
    1 (4-ounce) can chopped green chiles
    2 C. frozen corn kernels, thawed
    2 scallions, minced
    1/2 t. ground cumin
    1/2 t. dried oregano
    8 corn tortillas
    1 1/2 C. grated Monterey Jack cheese
    sour cream, optional

    Preheat oven to 400°F.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine beans, tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, chiles, corn, scallions, cumin and oregano; mix thoroughly.

    Oil a 2-quart baking dish and line with 4 tortillas, overlapping if necessary. Spread half of bean mixture in a layer over tortillas. Sprinkle with half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining tortillas, beans and cheese.

    Bake 20 - 25 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly. Let stand 1 or 2 minutes, then cut into squares to serve. Top each serving with a dollop sour cream if desired.

    Makes 6 servings.

    Great idea on a thread if your asking me. Me and my wife are always looking at kraftfoods or whatever else looking for new things to cook. Since we started, we have had hardly any luck liking most of it.

    That's the place. A little more greasy than I'd like, but it's as close as you're going to get outside of SA.

    A couple of tips....

    It helps if you have a tortilla press(cost me 12 bucks at Safeway), you can get them much thinner. Handle them very gently, they're fragile until fully cooked. If you use a press, use plastic over both sides of the press. I just cut a gallon ziplock open, half on top, half on bottom.

    Another thing, the recipe calls for an oil temp of 375. I never had any luck at that temperature,had floppy tacos. I had to jack it up to at least 400 to get the desired crispness. but that might be because of the altitude. Also a sprinkling of salt right after you take them out of the oil will enhance the flavor some.

    Don't expect perfection the first time around :D It's taken me awhile to get even close to what I want. Experiment with what works best for you.

    The good news is that even the ones that don't turn out that well are still so much more tastier than cardboard shells, you'll be hooked on the puffy.

    Try AllRecipes.com. Go to the ingredient search and enter ingredients that you like/dislike in a recipe. After you get search results, sort them by rating. You'll probably end up with a great recipe.

    Note: also, when you choose a recipe, click on the reviews and sort by "Most helpful". Frequently there will be a person who found a way to make the recipe even better.

    1 fifth of good rum

    2 liter of Coca-Cola

    1 box extra moist yellow cake mix and ingredients to make it

    Mix rum and coke together

    Drink rum and coke

    Throw away cake mix or save for another day.

    ;)
