Since the last thread was shutdown for being in the wrong forum I'll start another. TB had a little something for both the fans and the haters in his first appearance. He played well and looked like a vet carving up the Falcons. However, was injured raising concerns about his small frame.

    First game highlights:

I don't see how his injury had anything to do with his frame....he twisted his ankle cutting up field, right?

Haters? Plenty of people respect his game, but have serious doubts about his ability to stay healthy, but that doesn't make them haters. In any case, I'm glad the other thread was locked, because what's done is done. Bridgewater isn't a Texan, and that is that.

Tough spot for a rookie quarterback... natural to have a let down after a big game, plus short week, plus the sprain, against a tough team on the road on a national stage.

He's a rookie QB, with ups and downs expected.

That all said... he had the best performance by a rookie QB starting their first game since 2011. Doing the same things he did in college. He will be a good one... the Vike fans have reason to be optimistic.

Looked good. I was flipping back and forth, I did see him miss a wide open bomb. He overthrew it, would have been a easy TD. I think that was a weakness of his pre-draft, deep accuracy.

A BIG fan on this young man here! From off the field to on the field.. Could you imagine the media suckfest would be going on if manziel had that type of performance..

He & bortles both looked very promising. If clowney isn't special we probably made a mistake.

We probably made a mistake not drafting Clowney AND Teddy.

I don't think Bortles was ever in consideration considering he was taken earlier than we could have traded up for.

I still stick by my comparison to Aaron Rodgers for Teddy.

It doesn't matter how good clowney is if Teddy or Blake are franchise qb.

And those guys are only going to be "franchise" QB's if they have franchises that can put it altogether on both sides of the ball, and have the right coaches in place to have serious success.

Talented QB's on bad teams end up being forgotten, or wasted... or the teams fail the player, who then eventually fails themselves.

Nah. True franchise QB's can raise a crap team to respectability. Look at the Colts when Manning left.

You have a point, but Peyton Manning isn't just a "franchise QB". He's an all-time great NFL player.

Phillip River consistently gives his team a chance to win. I don't think he is an all time great.

    Can we really judge?

In three years, Nix might be a Pro-Bowl and XSF a staple in our O-Line.

    Give it time.

Right now, things are looking bleak :(
