Yeah, I thought everyone agreed that the dragons eventually are going to be used to save humanity against the white walkers. In fact, before I realized the books weren't done being written, I wouldn't read this thread thinking someone was eventually going to spill the beans that all the kings have to join forces to beat the white walkers and especially Dany with her Dragons

I've never considered her actually fighting Westoros Kings

    Arya + Hound = Awesome

Arya + Faceless man = Boring

Thank the old gods this story is moving forward.

Damn Brienne always has to ruin everything with her bs White Knighting chivalry.

"Step aside Arya of House Stark. I shall save you from this Hound as I once promised your mother."

What was the point of the Dany/dragon scene at the end? They've already established she rules the Dothraki with the whole fire scene, this new one just rehashed that.

I don't mind the Sam stuff but thought the Dany ending was a total waste other than dragons are cool.

Well, the last (and only other) time she rode Drogon, she wasn't really in control. This time it seemed different.

Also, she pretty much established that she is done "ruling" and is ready to get back to "conquering" by heading to Westeros

Yeah I mean I get the idea behind it, but it's all too much Dany giving a speech or standing there naked rallying troops. It's been done. And it's been done like 2 weeks ago. It was like a 60" scene, I think I'm just a bit annoyed with her right now.

what was the point of making the Mad King the focus of Bran's flashbacks? Is that just simply the 3 eyed raven suggesting to use wildfire against the white walkers?

I wouldn't get my cackles up too much over this episode as it was a total set up episode for future episodes.

The Deanery's scene is all about establishing they are going to the 7 Kingdoms and they will need ships. Where will the ships come from? The Crows Eye maybe? I think it's pretty clear that she is done with Mereen.

The only real question is who will manage the city while she is gone conquering the 7 Kingdoms? Grey Worm and Missande are the obvious choices. The show has already dropped several hints. Tyrion has mentioned that they are the ones the people of the City trusted. Additionally the Unsullied provides that city a legit Army that can go a long way to defending it. Danny no longer really needs the unsullied since she has the largest army on the planet now with the Dothraki.

This episode sets up something major at the Riverlands between Jamie and Brianne. How ironic it would be to have Brianne kill Jamie with the Sword he gave her to find and take care of Sansa with. Remember he told her the Sword was reforged from the Starks family sword Ice. There was a tremendous amount of respect between her and Jamie but there is no way she waivers from her commitment to Sansa.

Others have mentioned that Sam stealing Heartsbane and taking it to the Citidale and studying it could lead to rediscovering the secrets of Valyrean steel. The science behind creating Valyrean steel has been lost for centuries and the only time there is a new sword its because it was reforged from an existing sword. Imagine if Sam re-discovers how to create Valyrean Steel. Imagine every swordsman in the 7 Kingdoms armed with a weapon that destroys White Walkers so efficiently?

Anyway, in a long series I think you have to reset the pins from time to time in order to set the table for future episodes. I think thats what last nights episode was all about.

When she spoke to Dario I think she made the conscious decision that she's going back to doing what she does best and is done screwing around.

Dealing with Drogon's BS included. Came back riding him like a boss.

Yes. This episode sucked. Too much of Sam being a wimp. I've been tempted to fast forward all scenes with him. Also Arya's story has been boring for some time, but at least now it seems like she has some goodness in her. And then, at the end we get psycho Dany on her dragon trying to save Westeros by telling an army of barbarians to burn down homes for her.

Everyone in power in the Game of Thrones is a villain or ends up dead. That is the whole point. Dany is learning that you can't rule and be nice. She is learning how to be a hard ass because that is what rulers have to be, especially as a woman.

There's a difference between being a strong ruler and being a ruthless conqueror. She's starting to trend toward the latter. It just doesn't make sense, if her goal is to take the Iron Throne and keep it, to do it with bloodthirsty Dothraki that will lay waste to everything in their path.

Call me whatever, but for some reason to me she's gone from a 9 in Season 1 to a 6 currently
