It took me a long time to respect Kobe, and now I am losing it. At the risk of sounding like a Skip Bayless hot take, it sounds like Phil Jackson made him what he is. His teams without Phil have been pretty miserable for the most part, and he ran off the best center in the game and signed a cap crippling contract. He's surrounded himself with nothing but drama, and unlike MJ, I think he would be ring-less without Phil Jackson.
