    [rquoter]
Aaron Brooks didn't know he had a 3-point shooting streak until it was 30 games long, the longest active streak in the NBA. He has since kept the streak going against the Jazz and Raptors and is five games from tying Luther Head's franchise record for consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer.

“I think that's about the coach giving me minutes, my teammates giving me good looks and my dead-eye accuracy,” Brooks said.

Brooks leads the NBA with 149 3s and is making 39.4 percent of his attempts.[/rquoter]

I thought that quote was pretty funny.

    Another notes from the update:
    - Ariza is probably out until this weekend; Lowry is "at least" another week away.
    - Battier missed the practice yesterday to rest because of the flu
    - The Rockets are desperate to get a streak going.

If the Rockets can't capitalize on the upcoming easy schedule in a big way, they will essentially eliminate themselves from playoff contention.

I can't believe Luther Head, who was a bench player his entire time here and had limited shot attempts, has that record.

Remember when he used to be a lights out 3 point shooter? He was one of our best clutch 3 point shooters for a while before we faced the Jazz. Seems like he never recovered after that and lost all his confidence.

despite our last impressions of Luther, the guy was money during his second season where he shot 45% from 3 and hit a ton of clutch shots. There were about 2 full seasons where he was a fantastic contributer. He just choked in the playoffs.

That streak for Luther came at the beginning of the 06/07 season. McGrady missed a lot of games around December, so Luther got plenty of minutes. During the streak, he averaged 29 mpg, 5.3 3-point attempts per game, and he shot 45% on them.

During his streak, Brooks has averaged 37.2 mpg, 7.2 3-point attempts per game, and he has shot 42% on them.
