You don't know what you are talking about, but that's not really anything new.

I've never been "constantly owned" by you in any capacity, ever.

Northside Storm, however, seems to frequently get the best of you; which results in a slew of one liners about him being an intern and a tinman-esque parade of jpegs/gifs and youtube videos. You get butt hurt if everyone doesn't immediately take your side on every topic way too easily.

The Iranians are pissed about the bombing and the U.S. is supporting the Saudi action with intel, targeting, and logistics. You're wrong so often, it's like you have a complete lack of awareness of how ignorant you sound but can't help yourself but to continue posting.

How does it feel to know that a grunt has more than likely better academic credentials than you. You should be ashamed. You stated yourself that us grunts are the lowest common denominator.

I'm always a day behind on The Daily Show but on the show from Thursday, Jon was examing the strange strange position that we are bombing with Iranian allies in Iraq and bombing against Iranian allies is Yemen.

These civil wars are much more about economic self-determination by tribal groups than religious differences, They just use the religious determinations to coalese their identities and associations and exploit it to garner support from the benefactor nations. It's ever more proof that there is no 'side' for the US, no solution or goal for us to aim for other than the suppression of genocide where we can do it without getting stuck to the tar baby.

Thinking the US should pile in with ground troops to 'win' something is false premise. We cannot influence so many differing groups, where there is no overiding ideology, tradition of national identies or where by overwhelming culture we are seen as infidels to be exploited for self-serving purposes. If it weren't for oil and it's shipping lanes I'm sure we wouldn't even try, but mananging those is the best we can do.

I know AroundTheWorld getting owned is a frequent occurrence, but this time he or she was absolutely annihilated. Not sure he or she can recover from this one. All AroundTheWorld has resorted to since being destroyed in this thread is posting stupid one-liners. That's all that he or she has left, smh, lol.

    pretty comprehensive article:

Yemeni warplane fleet destroyed in raids, Saudis say
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/world...c186a6-d5bc-11e4-8b1e-274d670aa9c9_story.html

A key player in the Yemen fighting, Ali Abdullah Saleh, called for a truce to end the airstrikes on Saturday. Despite stepping down as the country’s leader in 2012, Saleh is widely believed to be using military units that are still loyal to him to aid the Houthi assaults against the forces of Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi........

“The Arab nation has passed through many phases, none of which has posed as much of a threat as the one we’re experiencing now,” Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sissi told the summit.

King Salman of Saudi Arabia, in another speech to the delegates, vowed to continue military operations in Yemen “until stability is returned,” a reference to restoring Hadi’s authority.

The Saudis are leading a coalition of about 10 countries that have pledged warplanes and ships to the Yemen fight. Several countries, including Egypt, have said they are prepared to commit ground forces to the operation if necessary.

I've just skimmed through this thread to distract myself from actual work.

You can blame Obama but I still find it more dangerous that you continue to believe in a policy that has costs thousands of American lives. Iraq isn't Germany. After the Germany surrendered there wasn't a widespread or active insurgency that continued to fight. Further Germany of 1940's wasn't a powder keg of ethnic and religious differences that Iraq is. It's preposterous to even make the comparison.

You talk about American soldiers dying in vain well how many more would you be willing to see die if the US had stayed there? You've said yourself before you would be willing to see leaving US soldiers in harms way indefinitely.

Let's face it the Sunnis and Shias were killing each other in Iraq while we were there and they still are. We can put up a barrier between them using literally the bodies of our own troops but that doesn't solve their sectarian differences or convince them to fight for a country called Iraq, that itself was a colonial creation with little consideration for the differences of the people in that region. No amount of US occupation will convince them to fight for what is a colonial fiction.

Also while Iraq is an important topic that isn't the topic of this thread. Whether Obama could've kept US troops in Iraq is tangential to what is going on in Yemen. Unless your argument is that we should also be occupying Yemen too.
