My lord, this is just nasty.

The season started bad with Cameron our best younger player getting injured. Got worst with a non winning streak, then the man mountain Pat Onstad going down and over all inconsistent play.

Tonight was just horrible. But overall, the problems seem to be we are mix mash of some younger talent, but lack the multi dimensional players that made up our vets back when the Dynamo were the cream of the crop.

Ching and Davis are still great, Mullan wasn't bad either (before we traded him) and Cameron seems to be very good as well. Everyone else are either too old to move quickly or specialists in either their offensive or defensive games. Leading to some matches being almost mix matches due to who is on the field.

Anyway discuss Dynamo fans, am I making mountains out of mole hills or does this look like it is going to take a good while to get the Dynamo back on track.

This is the MLS, I dont think it will take a lot to get them back on track. But then again, they lost everything you mentioned plus 2 US Natinal team guys from the previous season, thats a lot to overcome.

I did not see as many game as I wouldda liked, but one bright spot I though was the play of Danny Cruz, I think he has a lot of potential.

I just can't wait for the new stadium to get built.

They lost so much talent to age, injuries and overseas clubs that they just need to rebuild and what better start than with a new stadium.

It was bound to happen. We've been so consistent the past few seasons with the talent that we had that eventually, that well was going to run dry. We've been picked pretty dry by Europe, and then you add into it the fact that injuries have started taking their toll, and it was about time for this team to have a year like this. I'm pretty excited about the new stadium being built though. I have a feeling that should attract some good, young talent.

Get used to it. MLS is just like any tier 2 league in the world...once some talent surfaces they get the big bucks and Big Europe drains the MLS system...but with that being said it wont be too hard now for teams to rebuild because basically everyone is on the same level.

Between the play on the field and Oliver Luck leaving, it's been kind of a tough season. I have a feeling the Dynamo won't be down for long. They'll get a good draft pick and hopefully the ability to go out and get some help. Losing DeRo and Holden in consecutive seasons was not a big help. They need that creative central mid who can score from distance. It takes pressure off of Ching and allows the outside mids more space, which is where the success came from. Defenses had to choose between shutting the middle down and leaving the outsides open for deep runs and crosses to Ching OR close off the wings allowing that central mid to get deeper to make more plays. They need to find that player. If they do, the rest will work itself out...well, it's probably time, too, to find a new keeper.

 I thought about starting this same thread. Thanks.

Pat Onstad is too slow to move anymore. :( Let's face it... he couldn't see both shots by DeRo this past weekend. Ever since the departure of Clark, Holden, and DeRo, the decline has been fast. We've also lost great players to free agency and injuries.

I'll admit, I haven't seen ALL the games this season, and I've missed even going to some at home, but... from what I've seen so far, it's BEYOND a rebuilding team now.

Topping all that off is the concern that Kinnear might not be the coach for too long anymore... because it's just not working, but I don't see it all as his fault because there have been many factors: injuries, inconsistent lineups, free agency, aging superstars, the joke that was the designated player leaving, etc., etc. have all contributed to our team's demise.

I hope we get better towards the end of the season and end it well and with our heads up high.

    GO DYNAMO!!!!

That is a bit of an overreaction. They did make the western conference finals just last season, just a game away from the championship. Considering all the adversity this team has gone through, Kinnear has held this team together very well. Last year was the first year of a major drop off (and it was huge). No way I would let Kinnear go.

I'm still pissed about the Galaxy game last year. We should have been in the finals last year and could have won it. I'm actually happy for a Utah team for beating LA. As for this year's bad season, its mainly due to Holden and Clark. Onstad is getting old but he also lost the best defender in MLS with Clark to help him. Lets just hope Holden and Clark don't do well in Europe and come back soon
