Can't wait for a Carl Herrera-style title one day, something like, "Rockets Extend Johnson To Please The Ladies"

You've gotta be the one to find the Nick Johnsons...not the one that gives the Nick Johnsons the max contract.

A lot of people don't really know to much about this kid Nick Johnson but he will be vital to this Rockets team if everything pans out for him. His skills and abilities fits this team well and his personality, toughness and leadership skills will go a long way. He will be the John Starks of this Rockets team.

Eh, it's not uncommon for conference players of the year to go in the 2nd round or undrafted. For example, Chandler Parsons and Jeff Adrien were both named players of the year in their respective conferences.

I think he was saying it is uncommon for 7 players from the same conference to be picked ahead of the player of the year.

I believe Dan Langhi was also a 2nd round conf player of the year?

I know he is undersize. But looking at SL, he play defense, very athletic, shoots well, he is still pretty young. Why did he drop the way he did? Headcase? Poor work ethic?

From what I gather, he has poor ball handling skills to be a PG. He's more of a SG but he's considered to be undersize.

The more I see of this guy, the more I get excited about this pick. Not expecting an all star but looking like a rotation guy easily.

Oh well. Maybe his the "Fisher" to Harden. Play hard defense, decent 3p shooting. Put him at the 1, and his size is no longer an issue.

Looking forward to see him and PatBev harassing the opposition when Harden rest.

An asset that the Rockets can hopefully retain.

Ah yeah, that is definitely a rarer occurrence but also not that uncommon. Conference players of the year are more often than not selected from the pool of seniors and juniors. We also typically see loads of freshmen and sophomores getting drafted high for their potential. The combination of those two factors make it somewhat inevitable.

Either way, glad he's fired up about the perceived slight and hope he can keep using it as motivation for years to come.

Nick Johnson has already filled the void of You-Know-Who lolol

In all seriousness, I'm really excited about Johnson. He is uber athletic and brings a toughness and confidence to the game that I think the Rockets have been missing.

If his three point shooting could become more consistent, he would be a near perfect match to Harden's game.
