I gotta say one thing...I really like their chicken and I think colonel Sanders was a good man. Also, just imagine this...we could have been called the Kentucky Chickens.

My main concern is not that they were going to move but who De hell were the Thunderbears? Finding that they were an AFL team I'm even more mad that Rockets did not take up the name when they folded. Probably the greatest name ever for team.

Before that they were the Texas terror...man that takes me back. Trips to hooters with dad and terror had a Frankenstein mascot that would head butt you. Best mascot ever.

It's because they don't care about the city of Houston
And think the former owner was some dude who really loved the city
He did love the city... Shanghai or West Palm Beach Florida

Can't risk the stadium to be too close to a Hurricane target
    or crappy carnival rides

Texas Terror were awful, the games were entertaining though and yes the mascot was great. I think there was a Native American tribe that took offense to the Texas Terror name for some reason. Not something you can find much info on these days. But they decided to change the name after a two or three seasons.

Actually I need to correct this because I can't find any corroborating evidence. All I can find is that the team was not doing well and wanted to rebrand with a more family friendly mascot and they could share Clutch with the Rockets. Thus Thunderbears.
