This looks really good! Shame about what happened to him afterwards.

Just watched it, it was very good. There is some criticism that Clint Eastwood unfairly paints the NTSB as having it out for Sully when that wasn't the case at all, perpetuating his "big incompetent liberal government" views. It might be true, but it would have been a very boring movie without some conflict. I don't know, it was still good.

To be fair, Eastwood did say that they needed a "bad guy" so they played up the role of the NTSB. Sully only had backlash from within the airline, not from the NTSB.

With that said, it IS a movie and should be treated as such.

It felt more like they were doing a read through in a play than an actual movie.

Is it worth watching or just wait until DVD?

I thought it was fine. Just not really a ton of story material to work with. It felt long to me, and that was even with it only being 90 minutes.

Pretty big lie really, why not just say the birds were part of an ISIS sleeper cell?

I really enjoyed it. Eastwood has an impressive way of making certain movie scenes especially tense even when you know exactly what's going to happen. The water landing and the scenes around it had my pulse racing.

You can't build drama without hardship, it is basic storytelling. Without drama the film would be about half the length... the entire point of a movie is to make a compelling story, not a factual one.

The NTSB doesn't mess around and they did simulations where pilots were able to make it to an airport. If this is from the viewpoint of one man, his bias and viewpoint need to be represented in a real way.

Similar to any space or military drama ever. when you here the actual recordings of apollo 13 or BHD the voices are calm and professional. In the movies they are screaming and the characters have emotional conflict.

No suspense at all, not even when the crash happened. The only awe moment was when they discovered they had covered up those 17 failed simulations. That's it
