Are The Dallas Mavericks Babying Chandler Parsons?

    Chandler Parsons comes into camp a little heavier than Rick Carlisle wants and the coach mentions it in the media. Parsons takes offence and Carlisle makes a public apology.

    Then Carlisle goes out of his way to say he likes everything about Chandler Parsons after Parsons 2nd game of the season against the Jazz. In Parsons season debut with the Mavs when he went 2 for 8 and generally sucked.

    And now after Parsons goes for 1 for 11 against the Jazz Carlisle praises him again in the media.

    What is odd about this is that anyone that lives in Dallas or has followed Carlisle knows that he is very conservative with his public praise of young players. I’ve never heard him apologize to a player in the media.

    In my opinion the Mavs organization is babying Chandler Parsons and his ego. They are clearly worried about the perception that they may somehow be disappointed in their underachieving no defense playing max salaried Un-Superstar.

    Hopefully it's the start of the end of chemistry with the Mavs. What with Monte and Dirk being severely underpaid. Good luck, Carlisle, managing that locker room.

    It was a win and Hayward really didn't score that much.

    Nothing wrong with babying or in a less emotional viewpoint: giving the benefit of the doubt, toan investment whose shifting from third option to first.

    People are way too quick to jump on forming opinions when it's not even midseason. It's not like Parsons is decided by a single game rather than the entire three years.

    But anyways, topics like these get to his pretty vain little head so fire away...

    They are winning games and they are better than they are last year. Even though Chandler isn't shooting well, he still has a good effect on the game. I don't think he is getting babied. I do think the contract puts a bulls-eye on him, and they are doing their best to make sure the media doesn't have any additional ammo.

    Cuban was on the radio a few weeks ago and said he had a discussion with Monte assuring him that he did not value him less than Chandler but paying Chandler max money was the price for playing poker. I think Cubes was bluffing and expected Daryl Morey to match and lock the Rockets into a roster with Parsons. Now he is praying that CP25 turns into something more than a non-defense but good offensive role player.

    Who writes Carlisle checks?

    Oh right, Cuban. Won't be surprised if Cuban wants his staff to treat Parsons a little differently and more friendly. He wants to keep the image that Parsons is a huge signing and blah blah blah. If Parsons struggles, Cuban will do all he can to prevent scrutiny.

    They are winning some and losing some. If the play-offs started today they would be 7th seed. Their offense has been really good but their defense has been pathetic. Bottom 10 in the league.

    Holding Hayward to 12 is great D? Really? He's like a 16-18 guy.....

    I think Cuban got after Carlisle after fatgate...They know chandler likes to talk, so no sense in making him look bad.

    I think the fact that Dallas is making him drink a pint of milk per day through a nipple in front of Dirk is much worse.
