Mavericks and Bulls have too much uncertainties to be ranked that high. Lakers are also underrated. No way they're the 5th worst team in the NBA while Kobe is still there.

The rest of the list is solid, however.

I'd rather win the June power poll than the July power poll.

Lmao at Mavs at 4. I'm never visiting nba.com power rankings again. Mavs gonna be fighting to be the 8th side.

    The Mavs ranking is absurd.

What is it with the Warriors that has the national media just slobbering all over them? I like Curry as much as anybody but that team overall was horrid to watch on offense with Mark Jackson. Maybe Steve Kerr will change that.

Just to compare the rockets roster with the Mavericks for a second.

Mavs got a starting 5 of Felton, Ellis, Parsons, Dirk, Chandler.
You got a passing point guard who's out of shape, a scorer and nothing more than that, tall 3 with nice hair who is inconsistent but when he's hot he's making the right plays, best stretch 4 in years, and a rebounder.

Compare that to a defensive and scrappy guard who can shoot threes, another scorer that can actually pass the ball, a defensive small forward who is a deadly three point shooter, prospects at the 4, and the best center in the NBA at the 5.

Bench of Crowder, Jefferson, James, Wright, and Harris vs. bench of Canaan, Daniels, (do we have a Backup 3?), DMo and Dorsey is kinda where Mavs edge us out although no one on the Mavs team is really proven or in their prime besides Wright and Harris.

Coaching staff leans in favor of the Mavs but there is no way they edge us out by 5 places. Really biased but not surprising considering that NBA.com hates the rockets.

9th isn't bad, we're still a better team than Portland outside of that horrendous choke job.

Chicago should be 4th, even without Rose. Bump Cavs to 6th and drop Dallas to 7th or 8th and you have fairly accurate list.

I hope The Rockets see this and stay hush about it..... They know how good they can be and how much better they are than several of those teams ranked above them.... We should do the same, ignore everything and support the team.... We are still a couple of moves away from becoming the scariest team in the league.....Got rid of the baggage, now we just gotta load up on what the team needs and not focus on what was holding it back.....

That 7 game series is all Dallas care hold on too.

Some moral victory for a team that barely made into the playoffs.

Our supporting cast outside of howard, harden, ariza isn't the greatest. I don't really have a problem w/ the rankings they make sense but I think the media is overrating the players we lost. If we sign 1 or 2 good bench players I think we'll be better than a couple of those teams and finish 4th in the west
