Hey, for some strange reason I'm really interested to know where entertainers (actors/actresses, musicians, etc.) stand in politics. I know of some who are out there but not others. I would like the posters on the BBS to help me and list whatever celebrities you know and their party affiliation. Thanks guys.

I believe it was David Lee who said that being a Hollywood conservative isn't so bad since every third one gets to be President of the United States.

Speaking of David Lee, though, I believe Kelsey Grammer is a Republican.

Oh, and the delectable Emma Caulfield (Anya on Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is reportedly a Republican.

Other than that, I believe you're looking at a fairly short list:

Tom Selleck, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwartzenegger, James Woods, Chuck Norris, Pat Sajak, Danny Aiello, and, of course, the greatness that is Ben Stein.

    Willard Scott
    Willie Aames (Bibleman. Of course)
    Wink Martindale

Several people on there I've never heard of. Several aren't entertainers. I just took the list and copied it (and the list was "HCR Recommends", so they might not be saying some of these people actually are Republicans).

EDIT: I went through and took out the sports people I recognized.

Ever since they put her on the list apparently.

They list some "John Kerry Supporters" on the site, too. It's interesting to me that each list contains a Vampire Slayer (Eliza Dusku for Kerry. Sarah-Michelle Gellar for the Republicans) and one of the two 1980s Famous Heathers (Heather Thomas for Kerry. Heather Locklear for the Republicans).

    Here be the link:

I think people can be Canadian and Republican, Sam.

Some of the one's you put a question mark by that I happen to know. I'll look up some others later:

Bob Gale - Film writer and producer. Most famous, in my mind, for writing Used Cars and Back to the Future

Dr. Phil McGraw is Dr. Phil from the TV.

Kim Komando is a computer guru who, I believe, hosts a radio program dealing with computers. Not really an "entertainer" per se, in my opinion.

Tracey Scoggins was also on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman with Dean Cain. She was the woman who wasn't Lois Lane.

Paul Harvey is a radio commentator that really, really old people listen to. I wouldn't consider him an entertainer, either.

Rick Dees is a DJ who did the Weekly Top 40 for a while and was on Hollywood Squares a lot in the 1980s.

Okay, I've looked up the ones I didn't know:

Amy Holmes - Even if I told you, you still wouldn't know. But appears to be a political commentator more than an entertainer, so strike her off the list with Ann Coulter.

"Big Daddy" Jeff Wayne is a comedian. I suppose in the style of those Redneck comedians that are all the rage these days.

Anna Zetchus Raetz is a "filmmaker" from Jersey. But appears to be one who hasn't actually made it yet, so if I don't count, then neither does she.

    Art Linkletter is still alive.

Betsy Hart appears to be another commentator, so off the list she goes.

    Carol Gargaro is a nobody.

Catherine Coulter writes suspense triller romance novels, apparently.

Couldn't find a Cheryl Lass. Could be Cheryl Ladd, but might not be.

    Claire Berlinski is a novelist.

Darcy Olsen is not an entertainer that I can see. So off the list she goes. She's a politico.

Debbie Brannigan is the founder of CapitalistChicks.com so, therefore, does not count as an entertainer in my book.

Debbie Schlussel is a little known commentator, so she's out.

Ellie Michaels does cheesy Republican music, apparently. I wouldn't count her.

Emilio Navaira is a Tejano music up-and-comer.

Emily Pataki doesn't count. Works at Bloomberg TV. Is the NY Governor's daughter.

Gabrielle Reilly is an ugly model.

Fred Dalton Thompson was a Senator, yes, though I think of him more as the tower chief from Die Hard II. He was an actor for years before becomming a Senator.

Clinton did hang out at Greg Norman's house. That's where he hurt himself falling down a step or something.

India Allen is a former Playboy Playmate turned bad actress.

Jeff "Skunk" Baxter is a composer for television and movies. He did the music for "King of the Hill" on FOX.

Joe Bonsall is a cajun musician

Joe Cooper is too common a name to know who they're talking about.

Kirsten Anderson is either a painter or an accountant. Either way, off the list.

Linda Davis is too common a name to know for sure, but may well be one of Reba's back-up singers.

Lionel Chetwynd is a movie and TV writer.

Lisa Kennedy is the former MTV VJ who used to just be Kennedy.

Lori Cole may be a game designer, so she doesn't count.

Michelle Malkin is a columnist and writer. Shouldn't count.

Monica Crowley is a radio commentator. Doesn't count.

Morgan Brittany is an actress with a long list of credits. I've never heard of her, though.

Nancy Bright is a singer of some sort.

Nathan Bexton is a young actor with several credits, including such films as "Go" and "Psycho Beach Party"

Rachel Alexander is a columnist. Doesn't count.

Rachel Marsden writes political columns. Doesn't count.

Robert Davi is one of those actors you'd recognize if you saw him. He's been in a ton of stuff, and as soon as I saw his picture I said to myself "Oh, it's that guy")

Sara Evans is a country singer

    Shera Danese is an actress.

Steve Marmel is a cartoon writer/producer. "The Fairly OddParents" is the most recent one I noticed.

And you didn't put a ? by him, but John Milius is a screenwriter. I believe he wrote Apocolypse Now.

Tracy Byrd is, I believe, a country singer

    Yvette Rachelle is a model.

Anyone else, I couldn't find them.

mr paige: above and beyond the call of duty, thanks!

Forebay, if you want to throw around unsolicited insults in english at people, you might want to improve your grammar a bit. Also, you might want to just put me on the ignore list and then we can avoid any and all such misunderstandings in the future.

    See you later! :)

The Dem's still have the lead in that category... especially since the names you insert make the posted score "even." :p

As recent as the last general election, I might add. In Florida (Dade County... relatives there told us as much, go figure), and in *New Mexico (shoot in NM, they had dead people voting in more than one county... live ones did it too! I had a guy tell me that he drove to three counties to vote Gore! And he wasn't kidding.. He owned property in each county and was registered under variations of his legal name... *we were living in NM then, I heard the Dem's bragging about "beating the system." The whole state was inches away from also being recounted. We had a missing precinct ballot box in ABQ for about 10 hours... then when it was counted there was about a 99% Gore vote count in that precinct, swinging the vote by about 1% in ABQ toward Gore... fuzzy math indeed. So much for a "lock box." And oh, you can shove your hanging chads!! ):p

BTW- All of these "doesn't count" people in the "list" of republican "celebrities?" If they are breathing, actual people that make it to the polls come E day... they'll count.;)

He also has played guitar on nearly every Steely Dan record ever made, and was part of the late 1970s Doobie Brothers (with Michael McDonald...."Minute By Minute", etc.)

He may have done some music for "King of the Hill" but I believe The Refreshments did their theme song. Is he a part of The Refreshments? I dunno....
