Stockholm - A Swedish woman said on Sunday that she had found a penis in a bottle of ketchup.

Viktoria Ed said she was lucky enough to discover the organ before putting the sauce on her bread rolls, unlike her husband Stefan and their children, Madeleine and Simon.

"It looked like a penis, of an adult if it's human, and medium sized," she said.

"It's disgusting. The top of the bottle was intact, as if it had just left the factory. We would like to know how this thing ended up in a ketchup bottle."

The Godegaarden brand ketchup was made in Turkey and distributed in Sweden by the company Axfood. The shop where the ketchup was bought on Friday has thrown out the rest of its stock.

"I will never buy this brand again, it's finished," vowed Ed.

Police have taken the object for analysis. - Sapa-AFP

This is too funny, unless your opening the bottle and getting a prize you weren't expecting...

Right, She finds a schlong in her ketchup and of course comments on the size of it.

Just one more instance why if you kids must have sex, you should use a condiment.

well just to add to everyone's ease with ketchup. in the usa the FDA allows a certain amount of tomato worms per bushel/barrel of tomatos. Whats wrong is that if there is over that amount the ketchup/tomato companies will hire a guy to remove a certain amount of worms to reach the maximum level of worms allowed and then they go ahead and make the ketchup. So chances are whenever you are using ketchup there will be a very small amount of ground up tomato worms in there. My econ prof told me this today (he knows a lot of random stuff) and just said enjoy the extra protein

Same way with KFC(and probably other chicken places) and rats. That's what I heard from someone who worked there at least... They're allowed a certain number of rats in the chicken or something, and if it's under that number, it's excused.

some I heard from a scientist who should know... I saved these to use as examples for my students. You can have up to:

-2 maggots per can of tomatoes
-20 maggots per can of mushrooms
-1 rodent hair per candy bar
-1% mammalian excreta ( = rat poo) in ground pepper

    Anyone hungry?

(by the way, as for the schlong in the ketchup bottle... surely not. I refuse to believe it until I see more proof.)

You shoulda been here for the Rasputin thread. That thing could've only been in a 5 gallon ketchup bottle from Sam's Club. Anything smaller and it woulda just been a bottle of penis.

For ground beef, meat packers are allowed a certain percentage of bone. If they are over the limit, they screen out more. But, if they are under the limit, they put more in. I wonder if the industry uses similar practices for tomato worms, rodent hairs and the like.

 And I liked burgers so much too. :(

That's just disgusting. If the bone was finely ground, you might not notice. But we all find chips of it in our burgers. I always hope it didn't come from cutting too close to the spine, and think of mad cow.

The other stuff probably just gets in there accidentally. I guess, even in 2005, they can't or won't keep the raw materials in a storage facility that isn't infested with pests.
