I think this a a good list to show Landry is the top performing player among guys averaging less than 20 mpg. I would love to see a study showing how much increased minutes affects PER.

Landry does so well because he has been able to play full throttle for most of his time. When has been playing more minutes, he has had to settle down a little (still very active for most players).

The PF spot for the Rockets has gone from a weakness to a strength since Scola started starting and Landry took over most of the backup minutes. Even when Scola gets outplayed by the opposing starting PF, Landry usually destroys backup PF by enough in limited minutes to makeup for it.

That's a hard study to pull off. Hollinger has said that he's looked into it, and he found that typically PER will increase with more minutes. The problem is that it's difficult to differentiate between a player's PER increasing due to increased minutes vs his minutes increasing during to improved PER. Not sure if he figured out a way to make that distinction.

i think Landry's efficiency would decrease with increased minutes. right now he goes all out because he knows he has limited minutes. if he starts getting 30+ minutes he'll need to conserve his energy.

Does anybody know the percentage of Landry's shots that aren't dunks of free throws, i.e. the percentage of jumpers that he takes? As Landry becomes more known, teams will block him out more (less flying-in dunks) and he will have to shoot more and/or develop a post up game.

I figured it would be this way for players whose minutes go up and down based on play. One could only look at players whose mpg have an incremental jump or fall based on coach adding or removing them from rotation. This would have the problem that all the players would most likely be limited fringe rotation players and the occasional budding or falling star.

About 33% for an eFG% of 53.5%.

That's better than a lot of people's layup percentage.

    Dizaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmm!!!!!!!!!

If he can develop a post up game and knock down a 35% of his 3PAs, he'll be a superstar.
