I wanted to update Clutch on my families situation. If you hadn't read earlier this year, my mother has frontotemporal dementia and her condition has continued to progress and worsen. As a family, we were struggling to make ends meet with the bills for my moms medical needs and home care. Things are still tight, and my moms condition is still moving through its terrible course, but we as a family are adjusting and adapting. On top of all this, my Dad has been ill. I'm sure its the stress, but he has been ill from his stomach. He's been going for test, but it seems to be severe gastritis. He's lost 40 pounds in the last two months and has been feeling weak and dizzy, but he is going to the doctor and and is now seeing a specialist. As a family, we have all struggled but managed to all pitch in for the $1,500 per month home health provider. That might not seem like a lot to some, but for us, that is a very sizeable amount. The good news is that some of the applications for a home health provider have been processed and my dad is getting funded for at least two hours of service per day pending a full review of my moms situation. I think we are finally starting to adapt to financial situation that this disease has put us in. Mom is more loving than ever, and my sister and I do what we can to help Dad out with Mom. Cooking, giving her meds, watching over her, so Dad can get some rest. Like I said, during the work day, a home health provider is taking care of her. I wanted to thank Clutchfans for all the spritual and financial support that you gave. I'd also like to apologize to anyone that thought this was shady, or the money was used for something not related to Mom's care. You all really are like a family, and my family was amazed at the generosity of this site. I wish there was someway I could give back, but at this point, we are very tight financially, so all I can offer is my gratitude, but one day, I'll be back on my feet and will donate to the tip jar.
