Systems genetics identifies a convergent gene network for cognition and neurodevelopmental disease

Two of these networks, M1 and M3, showed replicable enrichment for common genetic variants underlying healthy human cognitive abilities, including memory.

These results illustrate how systems-level analyses can reveal previously unappreciated relationships between neurodevelopmental disease–associated genes in the developed human brain, and provide empirical support for a convergent gene-regulatory network influencing cognition and neurodevelopmental disease.

    Liberals are on suicide watch.

So, how does this relate to skin color and perceived races?

excuse me? it seems you are frustrated at a previous discussion in another thread. this thread is about the recent discovery that an intelligence gene exists and it predetermines cognitive ability and its heritable. This has political implications on the social sciences that claim intelligence can be altered with "mo money fo dem programs"

    Lol no not really.

It means some genius could never have a chance at affecting the world because of his situation.

What would help your case is if it was found out that intelligence could be improved upon.

It's been known for a while that there may be one thing or some things that determine intelligence, whether this is it or not seems to be up in the air.

you really do lack any sort of basic critical thinking skills its shocking.

If you are a genius. And you live in a world surrounded by morons. you are literally a god among men. You see solutions to things other people do not see. You use these solutions to be sucessful.

the existence of the "intelligence gene" refutes ENTIRELY the line of logic you need to say environment is a factor in intelligence.

Intelligence is there at birth. Education simply molds that potential to a specific task. It does not increase it.

You can be a complete moron and get a degree in engineering. But a genius with an engineering degree is going to do more than that moron will ever hope to achieve.

or, as is much more likely, it's a complicated and not as easily quantifiable mix of variables that go into those determinations.

regardless, you seem incredibly angry and seem to hold a great deal of vitriol towards others, "liberals" especially, simply for not sharing your biased worldview. how sad.

Wait! People can be born with more intellectual potential than others??? Mother of god my kids have no reason to go to college now!

New data also shows that some kids will naturally be better at sports than others.

Just because genetics can be one factor, it doesn't mean that education and environment are not factors.

This concept is not that hard to understand for those of us who have the intelligence genes.

Nah. Just feed them broccoli and make sure they don't start smoking until their 17th birthday and they should grow to be Yao Ming.

its the only factor. you can waste money and put your dumb as **** kid through college and it wont make a difference. money would be better spend in trade school than something where he wont succeed or matter due to lower intelligence

Guys I have breaking news as well.

I have just noticed that I have brown hair and others people do not. All this time, I thought they just dyed their hair blonde, red, etc.

I really think OP might be onto something here.

    LOL

Did you just try and make the point that school won't work for some kids due to low intelligence, so send your kid to a different type of school?

Is that were your parents sent you? Vocational school?

Were they like "Ya, this kid is too dumb for a 4 year university. I'm not wasting money on that." I hope your parents followed your advice.
